LOL!! Hopefully around then sometime...bit scarey as they have all got earlier in their arrival, but I wouldn't want any earlier than Miss23mths was - she was 3 weeks early (and tiny!!) 5lb3oz.  :o

Trying to be happy!!! But maybe a bit down?? Having trouble "adapting" to the phase of parenting late teens/ young adults DDs are 15  17 and 19. Middle DD turns 18 on Xmas eve.  They no longer want to be with us, have other  plans for Xmas day ( well two of them do) and no longer want to come on family holidays.   I should be happy for them as the two eldest both have boyfriends so they re happy.

I knew this day would come but I am finding it a bit hard making the transition. Anyone have any tips?

Oh GHM, this must be so hard!  I can't imagine a time when my boys don't want to spend Xmas day with me!

But I do remember that when I was your DDs ages, I missed a couple of Christmases with my family too.  I was traveling, living in other states or had 'better offers'!!

If its any consolation when they start to have children of their own, they will come running back to you and will need you more than ever.  They are just starting to experience their independence and it's fun and exciting.  In a couple of years, after life has wearied them a little, the comfort of coming home for Christmas is like no other.  For me, it was a phase that lasted 7 years or so, but now I make sure we see my parents every Christmas even though we live interstate.

I guess it's just remembering that 'this too shall pass' and eventually your adult children will want to come home for Christmas.
