So I decided to buy the brown rice miso paste from the health food store even though I had the woollies stuff. It's certainly not cheap $18.60 for a 400g tub.

I like this recipe though as it's easy and doesn't require much cleaning up afterwards.
I agree that you need the sauce to flavour the rice. My two toddlers enjoyed this too and the older one wanted to finish off all the nori sheet too.

Here is a photo:

This is one of my favourite meals! It's so quick to prepare so it's great for a weeknight meal...but looks and tastes classy enough for guests also.

I like to use either 500g chicken and keep the amount of sauce the same. Or use the full amount of chicken (1kg) and double the sauce.

It's a delicious and so straightforward recipe...and it goes down well with adults and children! :) 5/5

Blackwood, it's great to see you back posting reviews and thereby bumping some of these early favourites. I'd forgotten I've even made some of them myself!

This meal was a hit here with DH.

I used 1 kg of thighs and doubled the sauce ingredients as others have recommended and I will continue to do that.  I didn't bother adding the chicken to the sauce in the bowl and combining, I just put the chicken in the big baking dish and poured over the sauce and turned to coat.  I then covered the dish and refrigerated for a few hours to marinate.

I had some white rice in the freezer so I used that up instead of making sticky rice.  Loved the taste test I had, great recipe.  :D

I'd love to revisit some of these early recipes, tried, tested and lots of reviews - what more could you ask for.  Lovely photo Julie.

Thanks Judy, I agree.  The tips and comments really help when deciding to make a recipe from one of the many books now available.  I find them invaluable.  :)
