This was posted after rave reviews in Spain and Italy - BUT be warned that it may cause serious damage - check out the following warning from Steve at TMX HQ in Perth

STEVE'S WARNING POST

IF YOU SEE THE RECIPE ELSEWHERE THEN YOU WILL KNOW TO AVOID IT.

Suitable for all dishwashers, I don't have one, so I am making it for family as I have the THX and they have the dishwashers. Here in Spain, everyone raves about it, you put 1 teaspoonful into the little box bit instead of powder or tablets.

Here goes the recipe, as don't know quite where to post it, sorry  :-[

Dishwasher Soap
Makes 1 litre
Ingredients
3 lemons
200g rock salt
1 MC white wine vinegar
1 MC water
1/2 MC blue rinse aid for dishwashers

Thanks Bron, looks easy enough - will certainly give it a go. Our dishwashing powder costs around $8 a kg so this would be a big saving.

I'm having a "Bron" day today in my kitchen.  Have made the dishwashing liquid (a thick gooey green substance!) and have done my first load using it.  Everything came out clean so I was quite happy with it.  Will be interesting to see, when I do crystal glassware, if they come out sparkling.  Good one, Bron.

Next I made the macaroonies - lovely indeed. Cooked them 20 minutes though and think I will make them smaller (bitesize) next time. Completely different taste to our macaroons - they tend to be a bit dry inside.  Another winner!

Now I have the piece of pork loin on steaming under 2kg rock salt!! Can't believe I have spent $6 on salt - most of our meals don't cost that much :o :o :o.  Would have liked to have steamed some vegies in the tray but with all that salt, there is no room for the tray to fit.  So, it is back to the old way of using a saucepan which I haven't done for ages.  I have potato, carrot and pumpkin roasting outside in the weber and can't wait for it all to come together for a very late lunch.  Will report back later on this recipe.

Bron's steam pork loin turned out beautifully - I ended up cooking the lot and I reckon we ate just over half of it between the 2 of us. We are meat and gravy people so I made some gravy and also served it with a dollop of apple sauce, made some cheese sauce in the TMX whilst the meat was resting to pour over the cauli and broccoli and with the weber roasted vegies, it was a delicious meal.  DH was suitably impressed Bron.
Question for you or anyone who can answer it is - is it possible to re-use the rock salt.  I have poured boiling water over it to clean it but would it be unsafe to store it until next time I want to cook this way.

nahhhhh

because:
i have no money to pay to get started
i would have to get to sydney 3 or 4 times to do the training and that is a problem money, time and child-wise
and i'm not sure i'd sell that many

my party was actually a partylite party - candles and stuff :D

I just assumed it was a thermomix party!  Don't know that you would need too much training - sure you know the machine backwards by now.

Wanted to clear out some of the excess frozen stock of bananas and strawberries ready for the coming winter so decided to try Bron's Instant Banana Ice-cream (in desserts on this forum).  It was really nice but unfortunately didn't free up any space in the freezer once I put the container of ice-cream back in there ::) ::) Will certainly do this one for visitors.
