Thanks Judy & Kathryn - yep, flat out these days but loving it!  I sometimes feel guilty that I don't "welcome" everyone onto this forum like so many of the regulars do but I accept that I choose to use my time differently.  I love the forum & recommend everyone to it.

Thermoheaven - & all other "doubters" - noone is ever "worse off" for giving this a go. I'm not certain what your measure of better/worse is but at worst you find out more about your TM & rub shoulders with some incredible people who are very knowledgeable about food & cooking it in the Thermomix.  If you're open minded enough you learn a lot about yourself.  Anyone not feeling like they are having success only has to ask for some help - & it's all around.  It's not for everyone & that doesn't mean the business is not a good one any more than it means you are not a good person for trying. It's like the old saying about how people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime........for some of us the TM business offers a solution (like being able to afford a Thermomix), for some the business lasts for a while & circumstances change so we move on, others are in it for the long haul.  The wonderful thing about decisions is that we are all entitled to make them & just as entitled to change our minds!!!

I wouldn't recommend anyone takes this on without really investigating whether it's the right decision FOR THEM.  If you have a strong reason to do it & support from home then it's much more likely to be a success.  Part of the role of a GL is to help someone make that decision in the first place by challenging them to work out if it really is the right business for them.  It's in everyone's interests that new consultants are successful & motivated so none of us would want anyone coming in just to see them fail!

As I said before - good luck to anyone contemplating becoming a Thermomix consultant - wherever in the world you are............

Good on you Ted - we need more blokes!!!

To Kate 84 can I tell you that this is the sort of business - much like many - where the more you put in the more you get out.  I have finally trained as a GL (like Quirky Jo) & I'm enjoying the new challenge.  If I had been put off by all the disappointments I'd have missed some amazing experiences along the way.  I love helping people find out about & get a handle on the Thermomix.

Good luck to all of you out there contemplating becomming consultants - we sure could do with the help!!!

Bread / Re: Isi´s easy Portuguese Rolls

Good idea JD.  A couple of my customers were raving about this bread earlier this week at our baking cooking class so I had to look it out.  Still haven't had time to try it but planning on giving it a go over the weekend.  (they used to be times I had days off but not any longer!!!).

"DaniValent, remember her - wonder how her book is going."

I know that they were photographing for this book last week & it's expected to be out towards the end of the year - in time for Christmas gifts I'm sure!!

Well I did this tonight for dinner.  You were right Zan there were plenty of juices in the foil parcels to make the sauce with.  I added a teaspoon of mirin to my sauce.  It was really lovely, veggies were all nicely steamed (I always do heaps more veggies than recommended) & I was worried the sauce wouldn't add much because it was thin but it was beautiful (had my own TM sweet chilli sauce of course which is so much nicer than store bought).  We wolfed it down - doggies most disappointed there was nothing left for them!!! DH is enjoying my experimenting  ;D

I must admit Twitterpated, I loved the idea of this but was a bit put off by the thought of steamed snags.  Finally gave it a go tonight & - apart from managing to make potato puree rather than mash - we loved it.  Totally delish & it will definitely feature again in this little household........Thanks Chelsea (need a slurping emoticon methinks  ;D ;D)

Thanks ladies!  I decided to wait until tomorrow to try this & finally did Chelseas bangers & mash tonight instead - yummo!

Zan, with the sauce, do you leave the remnants of the steaming water in the bowl or not?

Looking to try this one tonight.

Thanks

I can just picture the new cook book.

"Chookies travelling without Thermomix" - it could be the next in the International series  ;)

Chit Chat / Re: Buy on eBay - Warranty not transferrable
« on: May 16, 2011, 09:00:11 am »
Well no doubt the person who bought it is terribly chuffed with themself - but allow me to burst your bubble new owner (in case they find us here!).  You have just paid $2000 for a Thermomix with a recipe book, a Thermoserver & a Bread Mat.  For just the "price" of having someone come to your home, show you how to use it, have them cook you & three friends a 6 course meal you could have got what you got for $1999 WITH  a warranty & on-going support.  Lets hope you don't have to pay postage as well to receive your "bargain".

Not surprisingly the seller chose not to respond to my question about the warranty.

There have been stories of them turning up broken when purchased from overseas like the one Maddy saw &, while we all think they're worth their weight in gold, most of us actually aren't prepared to pay quite that much!!!

Chit Chat / Buy on eBay - Warranty not transferrable
« on: May 15, 2011, 05:34:19 am »
Just wanting to point out to anyone contemplating doing so that purchases of Thermomixes on eBay - even if they say they have a warranty - DO NOT.  Warranties are not transferrable within Australia or from overseas.  Warranty cannot even be transferred between family members eg if mother buys for daughter & it is in mothers name, warranty stays with her.

Someone is about to pay over $1900 for a Thermomix package on eBay which states it's brand new but - unless it's coming directly from Thermomix in Australia - it is classified as second hand & has no warranty.

So, if you know someone contemplating this action - just get them to think again.  Firstly it will avoid any dramas & it might also dissuade people from scamming others this way.

Well done Sue. Glad you're taking your own path & enjoying the journey. ;)

Megan, I just added them into the TM bowl & did about 15-20 secs on speed 3 to combine everything.
Then you simply spread it onto a glad bake covered pizza pan.
