I do too.  Love the stuff.  Particularly good on the stove top and keeps the shower smelling good.

Cakes / Re: Almond & Carrot Cake with photos, from UK TM site
« on: April 14, 2014, 12:09:26 am »
Made this on the weekend using a round springform pan and it turned out beautifully.  Really moist and I used the cream cheese icing which was perfect for this cake.  Brought in some to work today and everyone loves it.
I also checked the recipe a couple of times even after putting it in the oven to make sure I had not missed that there was no butter or oil in the recipe.
Will definitely make again.

Can someone pls post the recipe as for some reason I can't seem to find it on the UK website.
Would love to make it for my DD 18 birthday.
Thanks.

Main Dishes / Re: Chicken Kiev
« on: January 30, 2014, 12:11:06 am »
Made these yesterday and they were awesome ;D  Had them with rice cooked with veg stock and some mushrooms in the Thermie.  Yum!  My son and his girlfriend loved it.  This is the first time that I've cooked Kiev and the butter did not ooze out during cooking.
Will definitely be making again.  So easy.

That looks so good BZB.  The recipe I follow is very similar to yours.
Isn't Penang Char Koay Teow the best?  We are going to KL in Feb and I can't wait to eat all the great hawker food.

Chit Chat / Re: Are there any backyard veggie gardeners here?
« on: January 17, 2014, 03:52:01 am »
My DH does the gardening at our house.
We have lots of chilli plants, spinach, rosemary, lemon thyme, garlic chives, mint, coriander, Vietnamese mint.
Just took out the onions and shallots.  He has put in different beans and bitter melon.

My brother-in-law has his veggie garden in the front and its amazing.

Main Dishes / Re: Beef Rendang
« on: January 14, 2014, 11:24:22 pm »
Made this last night using thermie and pressure cooker.
Did not have galangal so substituted ginger.  Did not add the extra water either.
Next time I will cut the beef into larger chunks, as by the time the liquid was dry, the beef was a bit shredded, though it did not detract from the taste which was great.
Thanks MF, definitely will be making again.

Thanks everyone.

The friend had it sitting in his home unused and I happen to hear about it so bought it off him.

My first attempt at making bread last night.  Made pizza rolls for the kids for lunch today.  Turned out pretty good.  Might have to cook for less time as my oven seems to be quite hot.

Introduce Yourself / Finally have my Thermie
« on: January 07, 2014, 04:50:29 am »
Hi Everyone

I have finally got a Thermomix!  Whooohooo! ;D
It is only second hand from a friend but who cares. ;D  I have been reading a lot of topics and recipes on this forum for the last year or so and also visiting other websites like Quirky Cooking and getting lots of ideas and tips.

Its wonderful reading about so many healthy and organic foods to buy and cook.  Some I have never heard of.
I am still a bit 'precious' when using the Thermomix but hope to get more used to it as I go along.
I have already made strawberry jam, Mayonnaise (I still can't believe I did this), brownies and scones, all in one afternoon.

Just wondering if I can contact any consultant in Bayside Melbourne to maybe attend a class.

Everyone's advice on this forum is invaluable!  Thanks.

Anna.
