Chit Chat / Tuna - freah
« on: March 28, 2011, 03:41:08 pm »
Hello all...

I was lucky enough to get some fesh tuna (actually from the sea yesturday..OMG) and the taste/flavor either raw (sushimi) or cooked is AWSOME... for those of you who have only ever had the canned variety (which is also good), if you get the opportunity to try the real thing either raw or cooked - do yourself a favor (molly meldrum style) and "have go mate!!!" it is FANTASTIC!!

So I am interested to see if any one has converted or just dabbled with fresh tuna in the TMX??

Look forward to heearing from all...

Fi :D

Main Dishes / Re: Beef and Beer Casserole

I'm making this as we speak... smells awsome! I have only used a cup of beer (so I s'pose that means I'll have to drink the rest of the stubbie! yay 4 me ;D), and only had 520g's of steak in the pack I thawed, so will probably have a good amount of sauce/gravy, and am going to chuck in vegies with meat. My little tackers are good vegie eaters anyway, but putting them all in together just makes it an all in one job and I like those the best...!!

I made this dish tonight and the whole crew loved it!!  We were big sceptics of snags in the varoma, but they come out beautiful, and the mash was nice too, but next time I might use less milk, I like it a bit more formed up than what I produced tonight....

This ones going on the menu list...

Introduce Yourself / Re: New mixer...

Well so far... I have made lots of bread, choc custard, dips, used the varoma often for vegies with dinner, had a crack at butter - which i overprocessed a little and came out like whipped butter, very fluffy! Next on my to-do lidt is the meatloaf in the varoma sounds yummy! I am yet to convince my partner that some steamed meats come out really nice....

Haven't done the coleslaw yet, will do it today for a bbq tonight... I will let you all know how it turns out...

Happy TMing.... ;)
