What are you cooking today?
« Reply #35415 on: February 22, 2021, 05:43:14 am »
Yesterday I made some choc chip cookies, but left the choc chip out and put baby smarties in. They looked very dull and when I read the packet, they were all natural colouring. So no bright reds, greens or blues.

Chicken stock from carcass and bones of chicken from last nights Dinner.
Pea and ham soup from ham bone from Xmas ham.
Yesterday made fruit buns with light Brioche recipe. Think I might try something similar for Hot X Buns.(Apricots, Walnuts , dried cherries and French spice mix and Cardamon)
Made tomato soup ( from my Blog) and instead of adding potato, added a tin of rinsed and drained chick peas.

I bought a cute little pineapple from Woolies today for $2. After I had cut it up I made this from all the off cuts. I halved the sugar.

Mission accomplished. I certainly haven’t done any piping for a very long time.

Cookie, well done.  These would cheer anyone up.
How will you use the Pineapple syrup?
Yesterday made curried mince with added veggies.
Had some fried rice leftovers. Added lots of finely shredded Chinese cabbage and rolled into spring roll wrappers. Served with plum sauce for lunch. Cooked in AF.

I have frozen the pineapple syrup into iceblocks and drop one into my soda water each evening.
Would you believe DD and Dh have almost finished the cakes. DH informed me he never gets anything like this anymore!

Cookie, the trouble is when we bake lovely cakes and biscuits, it is just toooo tempting. I am baking less cakes and biscuits. When I do, I either give them away quickly or freeze them.

I have been very strong and didn't have one. I amazed myself.
I made a chocolate slice thing from cookidoo. I had some rice bubbles sitting around so made these. I did have one, they were 189 calories each, but it only made 8.https://cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r150510
