lol, would be funny as if we did a food swap, meet & greet.

Freezer is looking very well organised now and I definitely know what I don't need any of (besides lamb).

I have a suggestion, but feel free to ignore it as the "$100 per week food challenge " is a catchy title.
As there are different numbers of people in each household, why not use a guide of $5 per person per day? That works out at $35 per week per person.
ie Single person : $35/week;
   Couples: $70/week;
   Family of 3: $105/week;
   Family of 4: $140/week;
   Family of 5: $175/week;
   Family of 6: $210/week
   Family of 7: $245/week etc

Just a thought ;D
I like this idea, especially seeing I just spent way more than $100.00   ;D

So I really did blow the budget!  In my defence everything I bought was on my list.

Meat - 71.66
Fruit & Veg - 25.53
Groceries - 48.69
Dairy - 28.63

So I spent $174.51 on food.  Which scrapes me in to the 5 in the family result.

I also spent $33.19 on toiletries and light bulbs but their not food!   ;D

I think $70 a week is probably OK for us,  however we have visitors 2/3 times a week.  So not sure how this would work out .  I work hard to come in under $100.  This is so much better than what I have been spending.

It is hard work Chookie. I include everything and with just 2 of us it should be plenty. When we have all the children and their spouses and boyfriends it cost me $100 for 1 meal. Have done well though in the past 2 weeks to keep it under $100.00 especially when i have to include WD 40 and account for DH's sock obession.

Mich it's a weekly FOOD challenge so until you'll be consuming the WD40, socks and razors they don't count.   ;D

So far thus week $57.12 which includes my auusie farmers, so far fortnights total $192..53  so have about $42 left for this fortnight, budget $235 for this fortnight.

Not ordering my fruit & veg this week, using what we have & frozen & tinned. Then will buy as needed.  We have potatoes, carrots, capsicum,  brocolini, spinach, onions, Zucchini, celery, parsnios, green beans, turnip, red onions, cucumber, lettuce, spring onions, mushrooms & a leek. Fruit, tinned quite a bit, frozen berries, apples, pears, bannasa, lemons & limes.

Looking good, I am getting better at this, normally I would  do my order but think I will just need to buy a few things.

 :)

H,  I am about to post a hot pud that you can use your pears or apples in.  Only need 1 per person.  When i finish making my berry jam, will do it.
I am not going shopping until Sat.  But this will not help much as the shopping list is growing.  Will just buy small packets of things. ;D  Will thin the Gravox powder with corn flour.

My fortnights total was $233.84, very happy as budget was $235.

Next week $100 for the week, going to be hard as I have my xmas in July. I have changed the menu a fair to use what we have in the house.
EB goes home tomorrow evening the come back at the weekend.

Will be looking at menu plan today for next week.

Well done Hally.

Last day of my week today and I won't be going to the shops Grand Total $92.67c.
Very happy with that.

When I shop on Monday it might be a different story as I've run out of a few things and the fruit and veg is very low.

My fruit & veg order will be aroubd $30 from aussie farmers this week. I took JDs advice & have a few frozen & tinned items for back up. Do you have them where you live, there pre-packed seasonal boxes are very good value.

I don't think we do Hally, although we have farmers markets every Sunday. Might pop in there tomorrow.
I have plenty of tinned and frozen back-up.
