I just wanted to comment on my last post - I tried the vegetable stew from the Rainbow Recipes book last night and have got to say that the gravy was BRILLIANT!!!  As a vegetarian I have found it challenging to get a good gravy, but this one has done it.  I would probably change the vegetable mixture next time, but the gravy is definitely going to be used again and again and again ....

Is this the first recipe you've done from that book Cuilidh?  Overall, what do you think of the book?

Yes, this is the first recipe I've made from this book.  Everything is well laid out and presented so it is very straightforward to follow recipes - it also gives non-TMX instructions for cooking the same dish so is versatile in that sense as well.

Overall, I would say the recipes look varied, interesting and healthy.  I will be tackling more as time goes on.  For me, the book is a boon (harking back to being a vegetarian here) and I think I probably prefer it to the Vegetarian book from TMX, but it's early days yet.  I'll keep you posted on meals as I make them.

Amazing photos from everyone again-well done.
Tonight we're trying a dish from the Travelling book. Beef roulade with gherkins. Will post a review tomorrow.

Maddy most of us are lucky to get one meal on the table at night - but two! You're amazing.

Our dinner fare was thanks to Judy - chicken and vegie soup and then curried sausages - thanks again JD.  I have also organised the menu for a friend for the rest of the week - she has borrowed my thermie....oh no I hear you say, but DD is in Darwin for a week so took her TMX, so I am not as unselfish as you may have first thought!!!!!!!!!!!!  :)  :)

Oh gosh *blushes*......anything looks good photographed up close, but thank you gorgeous girls  8)

Tonight the kids had late dental appointments (YaY.....both still are filling free ),   so I made pita pizzas.
I LOVE MY PIZZA MAKER!!!!.....3 minutes and they're done  8).......and Thank you to Julie O for bringing my attention to it  :D amongst other things.....LOL! My shopping guru   8)

Hubby & kids had on theirs -  triple smoked ham, salami, Nico's quick tomato salsa (well drained before using), and pizza cheese.

I had sweet potato & cashew dip spread on the base, then topped with marinated artichoke hearts, grilled & marinated peppers, and marinated fetta....was really yummy, but knew the kids would have  screwed  their noses up..... Fussy buggars  :P

.........EAT CAKE!

Yum Maddy what pizza maker is it? How much does it cost? We buy pizza most weeks so I should start making my own.

Yvette pizza makers are really the best. DD won one several years ago and we haven't bought pizza since. Hers is simply branded 'The Pizza Maker.' My brother has a Breville and has trouble with the filling sticking to the top element.
