Title: Bread Cones
Post by: maddy on January 04, 2013, 10:16:04 am
My cupboard has housed these cream horn moulds, that were bought originally with good intentions....but never used  :P

I'm sure many of you have them  ;)
As soon as I spotted these on cityhippyfarmgirls blog....they finally had a purpose!

fill them with whatever takes your fancy....I filled mine with Tenina's curried chicken sandwich filling, from FFS book.

read more about them on her blog here (http://cityhippyfarmgirl.com/2011/12/04/fiesta-bread-cones/)

I used a 1/2 quantity of the olive oil bread recipe (http://www.ukthermomix.com/recshow.php?rec_id=46), which was the perfect amount for 12 cones.

So perfect maddy.  Good for the kids with a sausage in it too.  I never cease to be amazed at what appears on this forum  8)

No Maddy I even managed to resist buying the cone shapes. But I think my fingers may be naught like Judy's. I can see so much more sense in bread cones. What an amazing sandwich they make. Thanks for the thought.

Wow..  What a gorgeous idea.
I have never been able to justify buying a set,  Now I just might have to get some   :-))

I think DGS might enjoy these with assorted fillings.  And DH would for sure.
I think Isi's Easy bread rolls recipe would work well for them too.

GF, I bought mine at kitchendiscounts.com.au (http://www.kitchendiscounts.com.au/?tkn=shop&rf=kw&searchby=&kw=cream+horn) because I also wanted a cherry pipper and this seemed to be the only place I could get both products. Was silly to pay postage twice just for the sake of getting the horns $1 cheaper elsewhere.

They look great Maddy.  I've got some non-stick cream horns that I've never used either, love the sound of the recipe on the link you posted.  :)

Well I finally got around to making these from your link maddy.  Fiddly but it gets easier with each one.  I only made 6 as there is no-one else around to share these with.  I ate 3 and believe it or not, DH actually ate 2  :o
