Fat Free Yoghurt

Name of Recipe: Yogurt
Number of People:
Ingredients:

1 litre of UHT milk
1 tub of fat free yogurt (standard size)
1 heaped soup spoon of Powdered Milk


Preparation:

Place all ingredients into the bowl and cook at 80ºC for 4 mins, speed 4.
leave standing overnight (8 hours)
Then place in bowl and put in the fridge.

Tips/Hints: Very cheap alternative to expensive yoghurt's that supermarkets are charging these days. Crazy!!!

Ive tried making yoghurt without much sucess.  What did you put the yoghurt in once you had finished with the TM?

I place the yoghurt into a tupperware, or individual glass bowls.

Have to try this.  I have always added the yoghurt to the milk when it has cooled - this is much easier.

Having been unsuccessful with my first lot of yoghurt, I thought I would give this a go. Do you leave the yoghurt in the thermomix overnight to stand or put it into another container?

i was told at my thermomix training that you should put the yoghurt into a thermos or yoghurt maker once made as this will keep it warm for the length of time that is needed to make it thick

what do you mean by a standard size ocntainer? i rarely buy yoghurt and always the big 500g tubs  8)

I tried this over the weekend, and while it still wasn't really successful it was better than my earlier attempt. It tastes very nice. I put a 200g container of starter into the milk and as said a heaped soup spoon of powdered milk. I poured it into a thermos and left it for 8 hours and then put it in the fridge. At the bottom of the thermos it was quite thick but at the top it was thinner. I will try again and leave it out of the fridge overnight this time. Will keep you posted.
Like Brazen20au I buy my yoghurt in 1kg containers.

I've tried placing small jars of the preparation on top of the house heating radiators in winter, and it works wonderfully!

Will have to try putting them into a sunny place during our summer Huilink. I am determined to get it right, so will keep trying. At least next winter I can put them on the gas heater if I haven't mastered it by then!
