What I want to know Bron is - how can you work and do all this fantastic cooking too! You are one busy lady.

Thanks Thermomixer, I like to know why things work.  It isn't that I am a disbeliever, I just want to know how! This dish is on my list of things to do tomorrow, it has certainly sparked some interest on the forum, along with banoffee pie which I will be making out of it too.

I love chicken recipes I Love Bimby so have printed this one out to try.  Can you tell me just how spicy it is - eg suitable for children.

Cookie1, have you got the cookbook "A Seafood Bounty"?  Had a good read of it and found quite a lot of interesting recipes in it.  Ideal for your holiday to Monkey Mia and all that fish you are going to catch! Unfortunately, with fish being so expensive, it is going to take me an awful long time to get through all the recipes which took my fancy in this book. It pays to re-read our TMX books from time to time - if others are like me, they forget what is in them!

Welcome / Re: Win an Antonio Carluccio Pasta Book !!!!

Well, that was a surprise Thermomixer.  Had forgotten all about that competition for Antonio Carluccio's pasta book.  I rarely ever win anything so it is a real thrill.  DH was excited for me too. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Yes, I know I tried half the time but the milk wasn't hot enough so did it for a bit longer. Just stick your finger in and you'll know if it is hot enough!! (not whilst it is going though ;D ;D).  1 tablespoon seems a lot for 1 mugful as I would only normally use 1 teaspoon but it was fine.  Will be using this as a treat only though - too much caffeine for a regular cuppa.

Where did you get this recipe for bible bread Caroline - I have one of Cyndi's books and it isn't in there.

Moussaka - Page 35 Gluten Free Cookbook (we have no intolerances to gluten or wheat but there are some nice recipes for everyone in this book).  Only other thing I have made from this book is the Chicken and Corn Soup page 21 which got the tick of approval too.

A really easy dish to make and serves 6 people. I used 600g mince, only because that was how much was in the pack but followed the rest of the recipe as is except I did the bechamel sauce from the everyday cookbook.

Would be a good one to make ahead and freeze for later.

Will certainly be making this one again.

5/5 from us.

Have a great time Cookie1 and I for one will miss you and your daily postings.  Maybe you will come back and post lots of fish recipes. Be prepared to spend a few days catching up on all the postings you will miss whilst away - it took me 2 days and I was only away for 2 weeks!

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hi from Cairns

Hi and welcome Paul.  Nice to have another man amongst us and it will be interesting to see what else you end up doing apart from ice-cream and bread. The machine is so versatile it is a pity to only use it for a couple of things.

Recipe for Bron - cappuccino

3 tablespoons instant coffee or 2 x short espresso (I used espresso granules)
1000g milk - I used low fat milk
Vanilla sugar to taste

Place all ingredients into TM bowl and cook 7 minutes @ 80o on speed 4.  For the last 20 seconds increase to speed 8.

It seems a lot of coffee for 4 cups but I only made 1 large mugful and used 1/3 of the above recipe.  May not be everyone's cup of coffee but I loved it and there was no effort at all in making it.

Sounds easy enough to make Karen, I'm sure someone out there will try it and review it for the rest of us.  Plenty of comments on the website of the recipe but no-one had actually made it.

Recipe Requests / Re: Bakers flour??
« on: April 27, 2009, 11:39:29 am »
Hi Jworth.  I bought my Defiance brand bakers flour from Foodland in a 5kg pack and it says it is ideal for breads, pizza doughs and focaccia. The term strong flour, bakers flour and breadmaking flour are interchangeable and refer to flour with a high protein content compared to ordinary plain flour which is crucial in breadmaking.

Cookie1, yes cold weather is great for being in the kitchen cooking. SA didn't get a holiday for Anzac Day, wonder if the other states did.  Not that I need a holiday, everyday is a holiday when you are retired. When are you going away next and where? Do you take your computer with you? Enjoy your daughter's cooking - love asian myself.
