Menu planning app - this is a great one
« on: December 17, 2012, 07:39:17 pm »
http://www.mealboard.com/ I've had this one for a couple of years, and they listen to feedback and update very regularly. It's easy to import recipes, easy to create shopping lists, you can create two weekly templates of menu plans... If you are super anal.. Er, I mean organised, you can even put the groceries in what isle and shop you need to get them from and the cost!

It's great - I use it on iPhone and iPad (and importing recipes on the imacvia the cloud). My husband syncs it with his devices as well. I prefer using it on the iPad.

I have a menu planner of my own invention, but this does look good. May look into it. Having it on the iPad would be handy when I do the shopping.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I'm never organized enough to plan a menu, but it would be good to do so , sometimes I do think about it in the morning and get out some meat, other times I'm defrosting late afternoon.

I have been using this app for months before I got the Thermie... Love it! Time to import my TMX recipes and start meal planning :-)

Yes. Me too!!!
It's good isn't it?!
I had an issue (lost password and some time (long time) since last using it) and the developer was very quick and very helpful in resolving the problem.

Anyone fancy emailing him to see if he'll add the recipe community website to his extra easy list??
Then we can work in tandem.
Would be even lovelier for this site but not practical I suspect!

That's a good idea - I emailed and asked for taste.com.au to be added and it was :D

I'm sure I read you can share recipes with people who have the app, too...

Is it possible to add recipes on sites that are not included?

Yes but you have to do it a different way - not as easy, but not hard. Easier to do from a PC rather than in the app itself. It's actually a new-ish feature - they didn't have that at all when I first bough the app.

Gosh you're quick persistent tiger (interesting name!!)

I'd be happy to share but I've only uploaded a few recipes. I'm finding it great fun to search and download recipes from the supported websites via the app itself!!
The joy of having the recipe pop in there is great!!

I'm not so good re menu planning yet - but I think that populating one's own recipes onto the app means that it's more likely it will happen.
However I try hard to follow the 10/10 rule when it comes to menu planning (tho actually I think of it as the 22/10 rule)
...and that is- donner decision is needed by 10 - AM if there's nothing on that day. And PM (or the 22 as in 2200hrs) the night before if I'm out the next day or we have visitors coming.
This gives (usually) enough time to defrost if need be!!

Regards
Gillian

Has anyone used a meal planning app for android devices?
