Our DD1 is presently in Paris, the cold is getting to her - given that it is supposed to be spring!! We have had the most amazing warm weather for this time of year - summer clothes at the dawn service on Wednesday!!!!! :) :) Hope the sun shines soon for you Frozzie :-* :-*
-
I feel for your dd as it has to be the worst time weather wise to visit france in general.. Im hoping it improves for trudys visit in a couple of weeks too... Ive never seen the weather this bad for this time of year.. Morning and night its raining .. Never stops
Being in a negative place with lifes dramas certainly isnt helping my mindset either... We have only had bad news after bad news so far.. Def think 2012 is a year we will never forget and certainly not in a good way!
Thx robyn 😊
-
I sympathize with your feelings about the weather Frozzie.Bloody awful here as well.Couldn't believe the other day when walking the dog that I walked through a thunder storm with driving rain then hail.I got very wet :P
Hugs from me to make you feel better :-* :-* :-*
-
Thx cc. This weather certainly is crazy.. It had better be one hell of a summer after all this horrid weather
-
Thx cc. This weather certainly is crazy.. It had better be one hell of a summer after all this horrid weather
We're on water restrictions here at the moment so goodness knows what might happen if we do have a hot summer. :o :o Apparently we haven't had enough rain these past two winters to fill the reservoirs ??? ???
-
We are only on water restrictions in the summer months here but sometimes i think its a bit of a joke with the amount of rain we have been having.. Dont want hot just sunny and warm would do..😊
-
I hope the sun comes out soon for you Frozzie and shines some warmth on you. A lack of sun can make you even more missable. My favorite time of the year is spring after a long cold winter. When the birds are singing and the flowers are popping out everywhere and all you want to do is be outside and enjoy the weather. I hope the rest of 2012 improves for you Frozzie :)
-
😊
-
I can certainly empathise with the wet weather Frozzie. Asyou know in Cairns we have only two seasons Wet and Dry. This year the Wet was not so wet but it certainly can get you down and drive you into depression. At least we are always warm.
Every time you have a moment of sunshine you should run out and stick your face up just to feel the warm. It is the promise of an long hot summer for you. Things always get better with the sun out. Try not to despair.

Frozzie -I know what you mean. I vowed to myself I would never complain about the weather if I lived in UK. And for 20 years I have kept that pact - but this weather is ridiculous. I feel so sorry for the kids stuck inside every day and everything getting cancelled. The film Red Dog is showing in London at the moment - if it comes to, or is currently showing in France - make sure you go. A bit of Australian sunshine cheered us up no end this morning - even if it was celluloid sunshine!.
-
Frozzie darling. I hope the sun soon shines and 2012 improves for you. It has not been a good year so far for me either. It is freezing here and and rained the last few days but the sun is trying to break through today. Sending ((hugs)) to you and please remember we are all here for you.
Love DG xxxxx
-
Gert i crave warmth and after 12 years i think my body is in serious withrawal.. We run outside whenever the sun is out which for the past seveal months is hardly ever..
Bickie its school holidays here and the kids are bouncing off the walls.. They are starting to get fed up with being indoors..will look out for the film but doesnt sound like a film that would show here..😒
-
Thx dg 😊 and 2012 has been crappy for alot of people and i know a hard one for you.. Personally just want the bad news to stop and this horrid weather to p@$s off!
-
Wish we could just grab some sunshine and put it in a parcel and send it to you Frozzie :)
Wouldn't that be wonderful to open a box of warmth and love :)
-
Now thats a sweet thought mandi.. If only ..

Sorry to hear things aren't so great for you at the moment Kim. Here's hoping things starting looking up for you soon.
Someone once said: "Life is a hard teacher because she gives the tests first and the lesson later."
Hoping the sun comes out on your life soon. Hugs. :-*

Keep your chin up Frozzie.

Hang in there Frozzie, its early May, it must start warming up soon.
Sending you lots of warmth from Perth.
How about ilb chocolate cake, that will make the kids smile which in turn will make you smile :)
H :)

Kim the weather can really put a dampener on our lives - whether it be too hot, too cold or too wet. A bit of sunshine always makes us feel better and let's hope it comes out soon for all your sakes. Think positive, you have something to look forward to - kids going back to school and Trudy's visit after that and I'm sure your sun will shine again. Come on here, vent your feelings and get it off your chest - it has to make you feel better.
Red Dog - fantastic movie. If any of your family members here in Australia have it on DVD, perhaps they could send it over to you although it will make you cry so perhaps not a good idea at this stage.
Chin up, keep smiling and glad to hear DH's back is on the mend. :-* :-*
-
Thx guys.. Venting does help.. Cant believe woke up again this morning and its still raining.. Unbelievable!
One more wek of school holidays left thn trudy and dh are here..looking forward to that.. I really hope it at least stops raining as if not its going to put a damper on our plans and their visit.. So fingers crossed all round..
We are running out of indoorsey stuff to do with the kids but will all survive... Cant imagine those who live on the streets t this time.. Dh bday tomorrow so that will be something to celebrate.. Trying to dredge up positive thoughts.. Please stop raining arrggghh!!
-
Thx guys ill get over it just need some positive news and its very strange that this posted twice as i only posted once???
Now its ben made back in to one post ..doo doo doo doo lol
-
i hope u are feeling better today kim :-*
-
Frozzle, I hope it is a better day for you. Sometime life serves us up backhanders, and only time and distance helps. It's difficult when we are working, through it. Wishing you sunshine and a happy day.

Dear Kim please feel free to have a grump on here any time. Most of us do and it helps to read kind messages from others.
Hang in there I'm sure you won't have to begin building an ark, so eventually the rain must stop.
I'm sending you a big ball of Perth sunshine and heat down the cyberspace that will carry this message.
Many loving thoughts to you. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Now back to the news desk.

Can anyone send great weather to Melbourne as well? Bucketing down tonight and freezing cold!
-
Can i ask what freezing weather is merlin??
-
Definitely not freezing by European standards!!!. I'm talking 8°C which feels like 2°C at the moment with the wind chill factor. No disrespect to our Northern hemisphere members and your winters but when one week you're walking around in shorts and T shirts and the next minute you need your winter woolies on, you know you're in Melbourne.
-
Lived in melbourne for a bit before life in france and definatel remember the weather changes and crazy winds at times 😊
-
Frozzie I am heading to Camargue for our long weekend. Should I pack a mac? We are supposed to be riding - but if it's going to be wet - I'm staying in bed!

Hi bickie
Love that area.. Ok first pack a mac are you talking pc?? I imagine so....If pc then only if you dont need internet...wifi is free at most places but often only in hotel lobbies etc down that way so not great if you want to stay in your room unles you have 3g then your fine..unless you have a usual place you go and know what they have.. Each time we have been down it has been limited..have you visited aigue mortes.. Love the walled city..
As for the weather cant really say.. They are announcing rain even down south but not all day but still very overcast but they ave known to be wrong haha and we live in indre et loire and have had a nice last couple of days but no idea what the weather has been like in bouches de Rhone.. You should be fine bit overcast for sure and a bit of rain but would definately pack something to keep you occupied incase it rains..
It has however stopped raining nonstop like it was last week so think that has gone thank goodnes.. Have a great weekend..😊
-
Thanks Frozzie - as my family keeps telling me - I'm becoming a POM - I meant a macintosh (raincoat) by mac not a PC - LOL
-
I had a doubt but wasnt sure ... Had to google it though and saw it was a raincoat..... Lol
-
The answer would be yes then as the weather is on and off although lovely day again today so ther is hope..
I get told the same by my family except not a pom but a frog 😄😄😄
-
Hi Frozzie, hope your weather has been getting better this week.
If everyone with awful cold weather would like to send it my way - please do. I am missing it and I'd love some rain. The wet hasn't started here yet and it's hot and humid. So I will happily accept all poor weather from all parts of the globe :D
-
Oh dear frozzie, doesn't sound good in France. My sis is in Paris right now, so hoping its not too dreary there for her.
Here's hoping you can get over the wet weather blues. What about an indoor picnic?
We are the opposite here. It's just started raining and everyone is smiling as it looks like it may be the winter break the farmers are waiting for.
-
Rain is back today and apparently hère for thé week-end but should get better next week
More than happy to send rain to those suffering from thé heat or farmers in need of rain.. I feel sorry for those travelling as it would be such à pain..
Ive heard of rain dances but how do you do à go away rain dance...
Its always thé way.. Those who dont need it havé it in abundance and those who do gavé none...the ground is well and truly saturated..
Lové this forum... So many thoughtful lovelies :)
-
I hope so MJ. I remember as a kid the weather would break around Easter. It's a bit later now. I'm loving the rain.
-
I used to love the rain when I was little after a hot day and that fresh smell you get .. Fond memories! ... Not the same however after a long winter and no heat just grey and rain.. I think being aussie born and used to the heat makes it harder to take at times .. Would be the same for someone used to the cold and wet having only heat.. I'm sure they would miss the cold and dreary times..
I do hope though that farmers get the rain they need... Blessing to some and a downer to others..
Seems like there are quite a few forum family visitors in Paris at the moment..next week the weather is supposed to clear up however rain or not Paris is a magical city .. And so many nooks and crannies.. Love to visit..

I fed up with the mud when walking the dog >:(
-
I hear you cc... We have a number of fields at the end of our road and they now have water all over i. Patches.. Lucky there are no crops on them as they would be ruined with all th water....everywhere you go wet!!!
-
Hi Frozzie,
Sorry to read you have had such miserable weather, the same as here in Tassie. However I can not imagine how bad it is. Every time we have travelled to France is in the summer, to escape the winter, it has always been hot. I hope you do get some sunshine soon. :)
-
I was lying in bed this morning at 6:30 just listening to the rain falling from the heavens above. What a sound it makes, it roars and pours, and then dissipates to a drip drip drip...I always think there are some extra magical ingredients in rain water because plants thrive better on that than tap water even though its just water. Apart from when I am driving, I adore rain.
-
I was so glad to hear you had some over there CP as these days you seem to be drier than us here in SA. I love listening to rain too and find a rainy day a perfect day to be in the kitchen. Having to go to appointments is not a good thing though as it takes so long to get DH out of the car that it is hard to stay dry.
-
Frozzie - the weather in the Camargue area over the weekend was great. So I am hoping was good for you too. You were right about this area. What a place!!!! We had amazing food, saw extraordinary birds and loved the scenery. And I didn't fall off my quite feisty horse - which I am very happy about especially as we were helping round up the bulls.
-
Here is a snippet of our weekend weather lol....

That's because your sun has come here Frozzie, but still only 12 degrees which is not good. I hope your DH doesn't get too wet. He must be feeling pretty miserable, so hope you will have a nice meal ready for him when he gets home ;D
