Not sure if this info is of use. DD has a crown making machine. Whizz bang latest technology machine, in house. It is quicker, cheaper and better than sending crowns out to be made. There is a gap of 1 hour between the measuring and final fitting of the crown.

Thanks again for all the good thoughts and wishes.
Finally some good news. 10 weeks ago we were looking at palliative care.  This past week we have had our first visitor, ( other than family). Ral walked without his 4 wheeler, around the Supermarket. He has been using a walking stick for short distances. He is standing up straighter. Has lost over 20 Ks. Not a bad thing . We drove to Creswick and had coffee. ( only 11 ks , but was out ) did some mowing on the ride on mower. ( I looked the other way) Doctor very cautious as even if Cancer reduced with this cycle of Chemo, it can return and he canít have any more Chemo. However we will enjoy whatever we can. And yes, the Chemo is as bad as everyone says. 4 th of 8 doses next week.

Just catching up.
Iíve given up doing battle with DD ovens. Frustrating and bl#&y hopeless. Each day Iíve been going home and packing. I do some baking while there. Donít know how I will cope without my new ovens. Iíve been trying to use up ingredients from my over stocked cupboards and freezers. Slowly happening.
When searching for recipes I always seem to come back to the Forum and my Blog. Making a lot of SD crumpets and adding SD to a lot of bread recipes. Made potato tots, much healthier than potato gems. Lots of scones, plain, fruit an cheese.

Judy, you have brightened my day with that photo of that dog on your keyboard.
Update on Ral.  Chemo is really awful. There is a definite pattern to the treatment. This lasts a week. It is a 3 week cycle. First the infusion which takes 5 hours sitting in a chair at the hospital.  Then home with pills for 3 days and then injection in stomach on 4 th day. We are lucky as our neighbour is a nurse and gives Ral the injection. He has just had his 3 rd round ( out of 8 ) He is continuing to lose weight. Ral uses a 4 wheel walker for long distances but is now able to walk around home without it. Yesterday was probably his worst day so far. He spent most of the day in front of the TV. We donít have any visitors as we need to avoid any infections. I cook whatever Ral feels like. Some not very healthy. Yesterday, a bacon sandwich. But he did have a lamb shank with quinoa for dinner. Dr said lots of protein.
Iím continuing to pack up the house for sale. DD helps and the odd job man and his son are treasures. Our gardener is also wonderful. I call him my project manager. He has taken over necessary tidying up of the garden.
Thanks to all for your words of support. It really does help.

Thanks again Judy and all for support. GP said buy bed, so we did.
Some very good news.. After more tests and 2 lots of Chemo, Ralís cancer is shrinking. Dr delighted as are we. But with a warning. This may not continue. We take it day by day.

Good morning all. An update from Invermay.  Ral is progressing very slowly in the right direction. The nurse from the hospital is no longer required. Although he is eating well he is still losing weight. About 15 k now. It is an endless round of Dr appointments. Ral is having the usual nasty side effects from the Chemo, We are so fortunate to be staying with DD . Plenty of support and entertainment.
It has been very cold and wet here. Iím missing baking and trying to adapt to a blended lifestyle. Itís hard to make decisions as we canít plan ahead with any certainty. For example, should we continue to hire the hospital type bed or buy one. $80 a week / $4500. ?
Cookidoo isnít working here. Change of Internet address? Iím using DD 31 and AF.
House sale, progressing slowly due to weather.
Thanks again for all your support.

Thanks again for all the nice thoughts and wishes for Ral. Has had a nasty reaction to the second Chemo dose. His treatment and care consumes most of the day, but it is good that he is home. Both hospitals In Ballarat are closed to visitors.
I manage a little cooking. I am becoming reacquainted with the 31. It needs a service. Kneading function doesnít work. I mixed the dough for No Fuss bread on reverse for 2 minutes. DD oven is an old Ilve. I baked a loaf of bread to test the oven. Was ok.  Think we will come to an understanding.
The house prep for sale is coming along but  can only spend time there when someone is with Ral. Mostly weekends. Because of this, we aim to sell at the end of August.

Yes , the brown ones are Medlars. I was told that all modern apples are developed from them.  The red ones are a form of hawthorn. I thought they were crab apples and was about to make jam from them. Fortunately I was told that they are full of cyanide before I made the jam.

KATIE, l really appreciate the message about the books. I know it is so true. I started to put them in order so they would look nice for the sale of the house. In so doing , I found one that I hadnít used for ages. I immediately found a nice recipe for a banana cake . I made it and it was lovely. I have managed to give away some magazines.
I have done a second cull of my baking tins. Wasnít as painful this second time as GD has taken some.
I shifted into DD home today. Feels a bit strange. I taken some clothes and personal items.
COVID and flu are raging in Ballarat. Iím being very careful and wear my mask when away from the house. .
