I believe you can sip port through them too. I haven't tried it as it may be a waste of good port or a yum tim tam.

I sense your frustration JenniCB. We've all fought our way through the EDC and it's quirks. MJ has been emailing HO this year with things we feel need to be changed in the next version.

Re the forum, I've been a member for over 2 years and it has gone down about 6 or 7 times in that time. Most being when the change to the new server was made.

Welcome. I think the important thing is to keep the machine on the bench. Find a cosy little spot for it where you can use it constantly. Then in the first couple of weeks make yourself use it and then you should be right. Try lots of things from this forum that have been tested by other members and you know they work.
Don't forget we're all friendly folk who will love to help you and answer your questions as you go. Good luck for your new adventure. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Hana, that looks great. Just like the jaffas we used to roll down the aisle at the movies.

Chit Chat / Re: My Christmas Tree
« on: December 15, 2010, 12:18:52 am »
I do so envy people that can get their tree decorations nice and symmetrical. We always had a live tree until a few years ago. We just couldn't find places to plant the oversize ones once they grew too large. It was ok when the family farm was still around but after that ????
Now we have one that lights up by itself and changes colour. The year Mum died (just before Christmas) we didn't have a tree, so I bought the first one I saw in Myers.  Christmas was a little chaotic that year. Fortunately I had done all the gifts as our local shopping centre had free gifts etc for those that shopped in November. We still have it. I'll try to remember to take a photo tonight.

Would royal icing be the best?  Egg white and pure icing sugar. I haven't done it though.

Grr, I know I posted here yesterday and it's gone.  :'( :'( There is a lot of my 'stuff' up there in cyber space.

Will put my thinking cap on after Christmas. We have Christmas, wedding anniversary and a birthday  very close together.

I bought this book when Nico did a class in Nedlands. It was fun and informative.

This is a recipe from Tenina's site that I hope to try.
http://tenina.com/2008/10/more-ish-licor-ish/

I also have one from a friend that I think is from a George Caloumbaris (sp??) book. All I have written down for that one is 1½ cups low fat milk, 170g liquorice, 2 egg yolks, 75g castor sugar, 120ml cream. The only instruction I wrote was melt liquorice in milk, whick egg yolks and sugar. This is probably the one I'll try first.

Did Thermomixer post a recipe for liquorice icecream a long time ago?
