Marina I live in Warragul in Gippsland, about an hour and a half from the centre of Melbourne. Hydrangeas grow quite well here as long as long as they get a bit of protection from the hot sun and they get a little bit of water in the summer and they don't mind the cold weather. Soil with low PH produces blue flowers and high PH produces pink flowers. The one DH cut back was about 7 feet tall. I don't give them any special treatment although some people like to change the PH level to produce different colours. 19

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. DD brought me home from hospital late Monday night after a holdup with some test results. I'm told that the operation was successful and took about 2 1/2 hours and another couple of hours in recovery. I am back on soft foods for another week before I can start to eat anything solid. DD was wonderful, she came and sat with me all day every day and took notes on everything the doctors said I would have been lost without her.
Today I went for some blood tests and then DH and I picked up a few groceries. It's good to be home. 23

Chookie, I'm just making sure everything it tidy before I go in for my op on Thursday as I don't know if there will be any restrictions on what I'm allowed to do after it. 26
