I love silverbeet and the stalks trimmed pulling off the outer strings and sliced then sautéed with a touch of water and butter then a squeeze of lemon juice at the end of cooking .

Silverbeet and Ricotta pies were great success. GD and friend came to visit and we ate them all with Sweet Chilli sauce. As I had used a fresh packet of filo I decided to use up the rest of the packet.
I had 2 cooked chicken breasts leftover , so chopped them up, added 1/2 tin of creamed corn and leftover Awesome cheese sauce. Bit bland so added the stalks from fresh Wasabi , pepper and parsley. Made triangles of Filo and this mixture. Had one for dinner. Very tasty result.

Made pumpkin and veggie soup with bone broth base.
Cooked lamb cutlets, potato, tomato and fennel in new BBQ. All in one dish and smell outside.

I’ve just made some biscuits using a recipe from Haigh’s chocolates. It’s basically Choccy Rocks with orange zest in. They are lovely though.

Took some Taylor Swift biscuits to Probus yesterday as a gift. The person didn’t turn up so we ate them at morning tea.
Made a stir fry, garlic prawns, asparagus green beans, carrot and macadamia nuts. Served with cauliflower rice.

One of the things I love most about Spring is its Asparagus season. I also hate to waste the ends that are snapped off. Today I ran the veggie peeler down the ends, sliced and sautéed on the BBQ in a dish. Perfect. No waste.

I made the first of four Christmas puddings today.  One for us, one for a friend and one each for two GD.
I also made a curried sausage dish for GS to put in his freezer.

You’re so organised Margaret, the recipients are so lucky you enjoy cooking.

After a week away who feels like getting back into the kitchen, certainly not me but I did make some soup this afternoon to tide me over for a few days.
