Wishing DH and all those involved good luck in their mission cookie. Was DH one of those conscripted?

Thanks Judy. Yes I think the meeting went well. They are having a lunch with other members on Friday. Yes, DH was conscripted. He did his basic training at Puckapunyal, then Singleton in NSW and then Woodside. It was the nearest he could get to Perth. He completed his jungle training at Canungra in QLD.
He’s never been happy about the way they were treated. We married in 1972 a week or so after he came home.

I have made a loaf of bread for DH, a Classic loaf for DD and as I had a bit of pastry and topping left, I used that up with the fruit mince. The bit of topping left I put into the pan and cooked it up. It was like a tasty shortbread but a bit sweet. If I use it as shortbread, I will reduce the sugar a bit.

Finally started Christmas cooking today with a double batch of shortbread and a batch of Almond Vanilla crescents which I only make at Christmas.  Tomorrow will be biscotti.  We have had the kids living here while they modify their home so chaos and not much cooking done during the past months.

Hi Trudy great to see you posting ,well done on your Christmas cooking .
Nothing cooked here today but I did see channel 10 Women’s Weekly Christmas had first up cooking with Thermomix a cranberry cheesey wreath . Looks delicious and few more things for nibbles . Obviously it’s in their December mag too.

I saw it in the WW and also watched a thermomix video on it. It looks tasty.
I made some different Cinnamon Scroll/buns today. I started the yesterday. They are so tasty. Quite yummy. https://cloudykitchen.com/blog/cinnamon-bun-twists/
Quite easy to make too.

Those buns look amazing cookie, were they as hard as they look to make?

What lovely photos of Cookie’s baking. Thanks Cookie.
I’m slowly getting back into cooking. The problem is I can’t find the ingredients for what I want as well as the challenge of the new oven. The cabinet maker hasn’t turned up and stuff is just poked into very deep shelves. I’ve been buying small amounts of what I need.
Did make a large grain and seed loaf in the bread maker. Might make some shortbread today.
Also made  Spag Bol, stove top.

Got an unexpected day off today so made some chilli sugar almonds for Xmas gifts, picked a large bunch of silverbeet from the garden so cooked that up and also made a vegan carbonara - not exactly a success, but it will do - I will change the recipe a bit next time.

Over the week end I have made four lots of bliss balls, shortbread, refrigerator walnut biscuits and gingerbread men. My apologies for the blurry photos, I shake too much these days.

You’ve been very busy Margaret, what a great job you’ve done there.

You have been a busy lady, Margaret.  Glad to hear that I am not the only one with the shakes - "Essential Tremors" they call it ... in my opinion, there is nothing essential about them, they are a huge nuisance and drive me crazy.
