My wonderful 4 year old son kept telling his Kinder teachers that I do lots of cooking at home so today I was asked if I could help out next week with cooking some biscuits with his class for Easter but the catch is I will have to do it without the Thermomix. (Oh No) I don't know if I can lol. Oh well should be fun anyway. I do love my Thermomix helping me though.

Any one have some 'symply to good to be true' recipes they have converted to the Thermomix? I am trying to cut down on fat in as many recipes as I can for the whole family. I am considering buying the recipe books and convert the recipes my self but I really dont need more recipe books lol.

Hi all you more experienced Thermomix lovers. I would like to substitute some of the butter I use for a more healthier option like Apple sauce. I have heaps of apples at the moment. My question is what kind of recipes could I use apple sauce instead of butter or half half. or even decreasing butter by a quarter would make a big difference I'm sure. All suggestions would be great. Thanks

Hi all, I have been cooking a lot of different main meal recipes since having the TM in January. I have always found it hard to make meals that everyone likes and nothing has changed. I wish we all were born with the same taste buds and all liked the same foods. Would make life so much easier. But saying that I have found quiet a few recipes that everyone likes enough to cook them again. But then I have made other recipes that some love, some like, and some just refuse to eat. I'm not one to cook two different meals for different people each night. Its either eat what I cook or have a sandwich. I like to find meals that at least 4 out of 7 love so I can make them regularly. We had Chilli con carne last night, I really enjoyed it but the other 6 were not keen at all. so out the window that recipe goes. Oh well I am still enjoying trying new recipes. We don't know if we like them until we try them. I don't seem to have any problems with biscuits, cakes and desserts though. Just main meals.

Apple Crumble
Apple Mix
600g Apples 1 Tbs Sugar 1/2 tsp Nutmeg 600g water
Weigh water into TM bowl, place Varoma on top and peel and slice apples . Place apples in Varoma weighing as you go. sprinkle apples with sugar and nutmeg. Set TM on 15 minutes, varoma temp speed 1. Once apples are cooked place into pie dish to cool slightly.
Crumble Mix
50 g Butter 120g self raising flour 80 grams brown sugar
Place all crumble mix ingredients into TM and mix 15 seconds speed 4 until well combined. Sprinkle crumble mix over apples and bake 25 minutes in moderate oven or until lightly browned. Serve with cream, custard or ice-cream.
Have also made with 1/2 pear, 1/2 apple.
Members' comments Uni - yes dede, it is very easy with the TM. I added dried fruits to the mix and coconut in the crumble mix.
Thermo Mrs - it was the nicest apple crumble my family has ever eaten! So easy as well. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Nikkit - I made this the other night, but added some rolled oats and coconut to the crumble topping. Yummo! I read somewhere that oats is good for lowering cholesterol.

I have now had my TM for around 6 weeks and cant live without it. My sister's friend was the first person to mention the word Thermomix. I had never heard of this machine before and when I found out the price I knew I would never be interested in a machine like this unless it cooked, cleaned and looked after the kids as well. (We all wish) But then my sister got the bug and had to have one. She received her TM before Christmas and I watched with amazement with what it could do. I started doing Internet searches and could feel the bug grabbing hold, I knew there was no going back and decided to go for it, the worst part was the wait for it to arrive as I ordered the TM between Christmas and new year while everyone was on holiday, but finally it arrived and I love it. But then it was my Mother who also got the bug and she now has her TM too, and my Sister is about to become a TM Consultant as well. So Thermomix is definitely taking over my Family in a big way.

I am posting this recipe without TM conversion but was pretty easy to convert.
Ingredients250g Butter 1 cup Sugar 3 Eggs 3 Cups Plain Flour 2 tsp cream of tartar 1 tsp Bicarb
Method Cream butter and Sugar. Add the eggs one at a time. Mix well. Add flour, Cream of tartar and bicarb and mix till combined. Using extra flour roll out mixture and cut out shapes as desired (My kids love my sheep and pig cookie cutters) Bake in 180 deg oven until golden brown. When cool you can join together with Jam and ice.

I have had my Thermomix for a little over 3 weeks now and have tried my hand at heaps of different things, we still haven't had the same meal twice as yet, and every meal I have cooked has worked out perfectly and scrumptious. My children start school on the 15th Feb so I will be busy trying a lot of different snack ideas to keep them happy. My grocery bill is down and we are eating healthier as well. Definitely worth every cent.
