Chit Chat / Pizza pockets?
« on: March 17, 2012, 07:24:10 am »
Has anyone made any before? Thought I would try tomorrow.
Would I just make the normal pizza dough and make small rounds and place filling on one round and put another round on top?
Any suggestions?

Chit Chat / Help getting family to do more
« on: March 07, 2012, 10:16:02 pm »
I'm after some advise on trying to get my family to help me out more.

I think the main problem is me (yes me) I have always done everything and my lot are so used of me doing it all that they just don't think that maybe I need some help (especially at the moment)

I was thinking of setting up some kind of reward system where I would give ticks for every time someone does something for me (like making their beds, putting clothes in the laundry, drying up, mowing the lawn, taking the rubbish out etc etc)
And once they have so many ticks then I would give them a reward of some kind.

But does giving rewards like this just create greedy kids that will only do something if they are rewarded?

I'm just getting frustrated at trying to do everything (that takes me 3 times longer) on my own and no one seems to care to much. I'm exhausted at the end of the day.

Or am I just being too fussy and should turn a blind eye?

Any advise?

Chit Chat / Pizza dough help
« on: February 25, 2012, 06:21:17 am »
Hi everyone, just wanted to get some advise on how you make a nice round pizza base. Do you roll it with a rolling pin or push it out to shape with the palm of your hand or throw it in the air like you see on tv to shape it nice and round? ( I would love to throw it in the air like that but I'm scared it will end up on the ceiling or floor lol)
Normally I use a rolling pin to get a kind of round base, last night I just used the palm of my hand to shape it to a kind of round shape. Is there a right way or a wrong way?

Chit Chat / Melting chocolate in TM
« on: February 12, 2012, 04:00:52 am »
Twice now I have had trouble melting chocolate in the TM where the chocolate has become kind of gritty and very thick, I had to throw both lots.
I made caramel slice today from the lunch box book, instructions were 150g choc and 20g cream (butter or copha) I used cream. Place both in TM cook 3 min at 50 degrees speed 3.
I used nestle dark choc melts.

Any idea why this happens?

Chit Chat / Help the Kings
« on: February 02, 2012, 04:16:23 am »
This is a very sad story of the King family who live in Launceston (Tas). I'm certain some of you may have already know the story of a family who has lost 2 of their members since October last year.
Firstly their 10 year old son Noah passed away in October then the Father/Husband Aaron King died on Australia day from a massive heart attack.
Aaron was my sons teacher last year in grade 10 and my DS had nothing but praise to say about him. My DS attended Aaron's funeral along with around 800 other people.

Lisa who is Aaron's husband and Noah's mum along with their 3 other young sons has a blog which is very sad to read

http://http://lisajking.blogspot.com.au/

There is also a site called seven cherubs that is collecting donation for Lisa and her family.

http://http://www.sevencherubs.com/2012/01/king-family-donations.html

Just a warning if you read this story you will be moved by this incredible family who has been through so much.

Lisa is also a TM owner and has links on her blog to many of our favorite TM sites (including this one). I'm not sure if she is a member of this forum but I just wanted to show my support to such an amazing woman and their family.

Take care Lisa, Jalen, Harrison and Kobe.

Chit Chat / I made someone cry today
« on: January 23, 2012, 12:51:55 am »
I know this is absolutely nothing to do with Thermomix at all but I just had to share.
I did a picture framing job for a customer of some special memories.  She was so please with how they turned out that she cried and even gave me a tip because she was so over the moon.

She made my day and that's why I love my job.
