That’s Marina’s post you’re responding to Margaret, thanks for the explanation - we’re always concerned when our regulars are absent. A belated happy birthday for your 80th, how wonderful to have everyone together for the special occasion.

Today I finished the planting of shrubs and small trees in both the front and back gardens after having had many horrible yukkas and agaves removed prior to my Ballarat trip. 32 plants in total with just the mulching out the back to organise now.

A friend gave me some nice creamy chicken soup so I had that for lunch and will have the last of my tomato soup tonight. This morning before going to gym I made a bottle of preserved apple for my best buddy there, she showed a lot of interest when I told her about it whilst over at Chookie’s. I also made an avocado chocolate pudding, 1/2 quantity for just 2 serves.

Nice swap cookie and as I don’t eat olives I would leave them all for the birds!
I can imagine those ladies having the time of their lives yesterday Chookie.
My first gym session for 3 weeks, I went better than I thought I would. Came home and planted 5 shrubs out the front, 5 to go but It was hard yakka and I needed lunch and the rest for the afternoon to get over it.

They sure are messy, do they leave you enough to do anything with cookie.

My friends are giving me a good laugh today, on the forum and via message on phone. It must be ‘make a friend laugh day’.  Yes cookie, you’ve joined that group along with Chookie. I hope it settles down.

It makes all the difference cookie, don’t know why I hadn’t thought to do it sooner. I think it took Margaret’s story to turn the lightbulb on!

Nice cooking ladies. Tomorrow will be a fun afternoon in your house Chookie, I hope you’re not too busy to enjoy it yourself.

Found a small tub of bolognaise sauce with added veggies in the freezer so I added it to canned tomato soup, it blitzed up nice and smooth and was delicious - 2 more serves for the weekend.  A friend brought French pastries for afternoon tea, I saved mine for later. Made a half batch of egg custard and blitzed the apple pastry in at the end, yum. Plenty left over.

That’s great that you’re able to discard the moon boot in bed Marina. I guess practice makes perfect with any disability aid.

I dug lots of holes across the back fence before going away, a friend was caring for the first lot of plants I’d bought before going away (4 magnolia little gems) so he is coming with them this afternoon. We had 12mm overnight, that helped me made the holes slightly bigger this morning for an easier fit. No sooner came inside and it poured again, great timing.

We’re mostly in that age bracket now that all seem to have constant appointments Chookie but a break every now and then would be nice. You should have asked me to clean the silver whilst you cooked, not a job that anyone really likes.

Margaret hopefully your latest appts will have helpful results, specialists putting their heads together is a good thing. Yes I’m taking it slowly increasing food intake until I get to see a Dietician, biggest change is to be eating some lunch.

That was nice of Max Chookie.
Margaret, I was glad to help with some ideas to add to what you’ve found.

Not really cooking but now I’m back home and feeling well again I’ve started eating lunch. Chookie sent me home with some of her sourdough crumpets, I used to love them so lunch today was a toasted crumpet with butter and vegemite, cut into small pieces and blitzed in the TMX along with a cup of hot Bonox. I really enjoyed it and could definitely taste the crumpet. Followed it up with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Until I get to see a Dietician I’m just going to do my own thing from the ideas we used at Chookie’s place and some printouts I’ve done. Margaret I hope you’ve found the links I’ve sent you.
