Hi, I haven't tried a cake yet, but I made some royal icing for a gingerbread house and it didn't turn out, the egg white "just one "didn't seem enough for it to get whipped up and fluffy, I have already given my kenwood away and must have given the hand held beaters too because I can't find them. I did make a cheese cake and that was yummy.

Wow, you are really cooking up a storm, I had my granddaughter over this weekend and I supervised her making a gingerbread house, I was disappointed with the royal icing in the thermomix, the first batch with bought pure icing sugar was ok, but the second lot," made my own icing sugar" didn't turn out the colour was dirty from the raw sugar and it just didn't turn out right, oh well, win some loss some, but I still LOVE my machine.

Hi Amanda, and welcome, I'm sure you will really enjoy the thermomix, no standing at the stove stirring , soups are so easy and nutritious and the fruit sorbets will be a hit with the older boys.

Thanks Sares and welcome, I'm amazed everytime I log on at the information I gain from this forum, I will be giving this a try for xmas. Today I made the "Milo" Yum, also whizzed up a LSA mix although the Milo has all the ingredients in it. The Bacon Jam is a real favorite and I will be making my fourth batch tomorrow, everyone who tastes it wants to take some home. Thanks again.

I have made this recipe five times, everyone loves it but you will notice they only take a small amount the first time. I have used a red apple each time as it was what I had on hand. It seems to keep for a few days if there is any leftovers, so you could make it the day before. Enjoy..

Hi Mrs H, I went to three demos before I bought, I loved it from the start but couldn't justify the purchase when I had so many kitchen tools, but watching the kids buy everything they wanted, decided my needs were important too. The vegie stock was the first thing I made, but have since made the Veggie Stock from the Full Steam ahead book and it is a bit nicer. Enjoy...

Thank-you everyone for the warm welcome, I to haven't opened any of my hundreds of cook books since the thermy arrived, I think i might donate them, with the internet at hand there doesn't seem a need for them. Being on my own I was getting very slack with the cooking but now really enjoy creating new taste sensations and not having to stand over the stove is a joy, making my own butter(with a little olive oil) was fascinating and so quick. I think my friends get sick of me raving about the machine, but they enjoy tasting the food. LOL

Hello everyone, I've been reading this forum for a couple of months, just got the courage to join, thank-you for all the wonderful information and tips. I have had my Thermomix for about four months and love it. This is my first forum and I'm not sure where my first message went. I made the lemon concentrate cleaner this morning and have been cleaning the house, love it, although I did wash the floor with it and its a bit slippery in bare feet, but a nice shine. Hope to have something to contribute to you all in exchange for all your great ideas. I live on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.
