Title: Silk Dyed Easter Eggs
Post by: Tebasile on March 04, 2010, 08:35:04 pm
My friend Hans shared almost 3 years ago his Family-Easter-Eggs-Dyeing-Event with me. They wrapped eggs with ugly, old pieces of silk from ties/scarves/old blouses and placed them in boiling water with vinegar. The silk was reused the other year.

Now, this is my way using the Varoma and the Thermomix:

Tebasile,  these are just SO beautiful.   Much nicer for the GC to find than the chocolate ones.

Good thinking Tebasile - my friend paints about 100 eggs each Easter and then puts decorations on them - this is soooo much easier.

Thanks for alerting me to this recipe CC. I did find a Greek recipe for dying using this method and I didn't understand it until I saw these pictures. Thanks again.
