Title: Vegetable Salt

Name of Recipe: Vegetable Salt
 
Ingredients:

50 g mixed dried (dehydrated) vegetables, (carrot, leek, celery, parsnips, onion, parsley) cut into small pieces
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 tablespoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

Preparation:

Put all the ingredients in the TM bowl and pulverize for 10 seconds on speed 10. Transfer to a jar and store in a cool, dry place.
Variation:
If you prefer a more spicy salt, add ½ teaspoon chili.
To flavor meat, add a teaspoon marjoram and a teaspoon of chopped basil.

very cool, i pay for a fortune for the herbamare stuff! where can you buy dried vegies though? camping store or are there better places, anyone know?

You can dehydrate your own veggies.  In Oz, Sunbeam certainly have a dehydrator. 

But it is not that hard - lateral thinking - cut into small pieces/slices and leave in the oven after use when the temp has dropped.

Leave near the kitchen window like drying mandarin peel (sorry doesn't anyone else do that for Chinese cooking?)

I see Loose Produce in Perth have dried veggies on their product list (http://www.looseproduce.com/products.html), so sure other similar shops would too.

You will probably see them everywhere now you have been sensitised.

LOL yes probably!

i think there is a stall at our local farmers market who sells their own combos. i only just bought a huge container of herbamare though so it'll be a while before i need to make some...

Just been looking for inspiration and I came across this recipe so thought I would bump it as vege salt is always so handy to have in the cupboard.
