Title: Adding grains to bread dough
Post by: Zada on August 31, 2012, 05:26:15 am
I'm making the easy everyday white bread, if I add a multigrain mix in, do I put less flour in or more water? Or do I just use the same amount and add my grain in?
Thanks

Hi Zada,

When I make that loaf, I replace about 50g or so of the flour with LSA and chia seeds. So I use about 550g flour and 50g of LSA/chia. But if you like it really seedy, you could decrease the amount of flour and increase the amount of seeds a bit more.

I love that loaf, and I make it into bread rolls a lot too!

Anyway, others will probably know more than me...I'm fairly new at this!  :)

Hope it tastes good!

It's one the recipe community forum. I added half a cup of seeds and didn't use more water but am finding the bread is still very heavy not light? Is the dough meant to be sticky or more like pasta dough would be once it's kneaded?

Zada, have a read of this thread (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=7639.0) - in particular Chookie's reply (achookwoman)on the first page.  She is our bread guru and her advice is invaluable.
