Looks great - the picture in the book looks like a pile of rice sitting in cherry sauce and sprinkled with chocolate shavings but your photo shows exactly how it looks on the inside and looks very appealing.  I must get around to doing this one.

Beautiful photo Quirkycooking.  You have made me want to make it too,  looks so luscious.  :)

Thermomixer, re: light for taking photos.  As most of mine are taken for the evening meal, the light is not the best, so I use a couple of lamps, one on either side of the plate, just cheapies that have a goose neck to be able to move and direct the light.  Also use daylight globes, gives a natural light perfect for taking photos and I never use flash,  as it gives a washed out look to what I'm photographing.  :)

I had a quiet day today, too busy watching the AFL final  :-))  but I did make roast beef with roast potatoes and roast pumpkin.  Also steamed some carrots & broccoli (in the varoma), and served with lots of gravy.  :)

Great ideas - I love pictures of the food - just so that somebody reading the recipe gets an idea of what it is supposed to be like.  I am a visual learner too - so essential for me.

I purcahased the UK Thermomix cookbooks and was horrified to find no pictures !!!!! :o :o :o

Yes, I find that disappointing too. There are lots more in the Indian book, which is good.  Hope that's the direction things are heading in now.

I absolutely love the idea of taking photos and adding to recipes so that the children have a recipe book.  I can't be bothered to do that sort of thing for myself, but for the children - now, that's a different story.  Think I need to get myself organised with a camera.

Does anyone know of good, easy to use (ie enter data) software for the Mac?

Anyway, what I've made today and yesterday:

bread
fruit scones
the pumpkin seed salad that I posted
Fresh corn on the cob that I picked today at the allotment on my brief visit, and also whizzed up some lime and chilli butter to go on it.

I'm currently trying to get inspiration for tonight's dinner ...

As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!

Yes, some have been sent to Australia - so now everybody knows !!  I tried to purchase one from the UK, but got told they didn't have enough & I would have to wait until the books arrived in Oz - so what is customer service ?

They sent the other two books and couldn't spare ONE LITTLE INDIAN BOOK ?? !!!!!!!!

There is NOWHERE on the UK TMX site that says it's available - secret society !

Thanks for the hints on photography too - I might need to get some lamps.  MrsT still gets excited about new dishes being lovingly prepared and sits expectantly at the table and then when only her plate is served and I go back to the kitchen.... "Oh not another dish for that Bimby thing !!!!"

LOL @ everyone photographing their meals.  I'm afraid that when I'm cooking for at least 8 - and it's 12 this week, by 6pm preferably! - I don't have time to take photos!  One day...

Today I made CADA for brekky, then some rice and almond milk, and later on I did the Budget Busters Chicken, Leek and Corn pie but I used potato, not chicken (we're mostly veg here).  It was yum and made lots - did 3 shallow pies with steamed veg on the side and TMX ketchup for the kids to dip their pie in (but they said it was tasty enough without the sauce anyway!)

Yesterday did coconut milk (not worth it, IMO) and Immi made cookies and surely we did more that I already forget.

Lots of cream to go to butter tomorrow...  and some coleslaw.  And what else - who knows!

Still using TMX at least 2 times a day, and sometimes up to 8 different uses!  The novelty sure hasn't worn off and when life settles a bit next term (well, from the holidays onwards - under 2 weeks here) I will get to 'play' more with TMX.  Yay!

Good work mama_bel - what was the story with the coconut milk - was it the EDC recipe?  Ok with fresh coconut - but that's easy.

Thanks also for linking on your blog to here.  :-* :-*

Maybe the Thermomix packaging should carry an Official Warning - excessive use of this machine may lead to Weight Gain   ;D ;D ;D

Ohh indeed!! Although I think this forum isn't too far behind in needing that warning applied to it as well lol
