I have been making our family Christmas Pudding for years.
I now make it in TMX !Yum.
I usually cook it in a large pot with water 1/2 way up the side of the pudding bowl and steam it.
My question is can I cook the pudding (in stainless steel pudding bowl with lid) in a large metal steamer Chinese steamer?
The only difference is that the pudding is above the water not sitting in it.
Thanks for your collective wisdom and experience.

Can't see why not. Make sure you keep the steamer topped up with boiling water. How large is your Pudding?

Pudding is 1.5 kg in weight.

I would put a couple of skewers under basin, to allow max steam to circulate. Or an egg ring. Pretty large pud, will probably need 4 hours. I do the same trick with the skewers when I use the varoma.

Thanks.
The steamer is a large Chinese steamer and has several layers with holes in them so there is really good steam circulation.
It is just that I have not cooked a pud in a Chinese steamer before and pud is too big for Varoma!

Yes , I only use the Varoma for small ones. I have a collection of Pyrex and similar French glass dishes with covers that take 4 servings.
I took the Varoma to the shops when I bought them. I did get some funny looks.
