We had this for dinner last night and it was absolutely amazing, and even better today for lunch!  Lamb is so tender it melts in your mouth.  I couldn't find any yellow squash in my area, so used butternut pumpkin in its place and it was beautiful.  Cooked it for about 5 minutes little longer at step 4 (to account for the pumpkin that I had added to the jug).  Added cracked pepper to taste.  Quite runny when first cooked but soon thickens up, and was much thicker when I checked it this morning.

This is definitely a favourite already - 5/5!

I have just had a massive fail with this recipe.  Brownie looks great and is gooey inside but it tastes terrible, I had to throw my piece in the bin.  I think I made a rookie error in substituting the 60g cacao for 60g cocoa powder.  I did a bit of googling and people seemed to be saying they had used it 1 for 1 and it had turned out for them.  I'm also not 100% my scales were working accurately at the time as I felt like I had put a bit more in than 60g.  I am a little annoyed at myself for wasting all of those ingredients  :(

Anyway, my question is, can anybody tell me if it is possible to substitute cacao for cocoa powder and what amount I should substitute it with?

Thanks
Renee

Yum - this recipe is super easy and delicious! I didn't have any wine on hand (!) so I swapped it for water. Only had frozen cooked prawns so I semi-defrosted them and then cut the cooking time to 45 seconds. They were fine after sitting in the thermoserver for 10 minutes.  DH went back for seconds  :D

Recipe Requests / Custard from the EDC
« on: May 05, 2013, 01:29:58 am »
Hi all,

I'm expecting my Thermomix to arrive on Tuesday (yay!) but am hoping to get some groceries done for the week before it arrives as I wont have a chance to go back until Friday.  However, as I don't yet have the TMX, I don't have the EDC (I really think they should give you the cookbook when you order so you can start looking at the recipes while waiting for the TMX to arrive!  :)).

I'm just wondering whether anybody could please tell me the ingredients required for the vanilla custard that I believe is in the EDC?  We had it at the first demo that I went to, so am assuming it is from there.

Thank you!
Renee

Thank you!

I'm thinking of maybe making the creamy garlic risotto that I saw mentioned on here somewhere, and also some vanilla custard - yum!  I'm wanting to make some gluten free bread too but waiting to go to the Back to Basics cooking class in a week or so to try it to see if I like it before buying all the ingredients :)  Open to any suggestions for what I should cook in my first bake up!  I basically like any food haha

Thanks Judy!  Yes I think I'll be spending all my nights this week searching the forum and try and work out what I will make first!

News about Thermomix / AGFEST 2013?
« on: April 24, 2013, 12:02:25 pm »
Hi all

Just wondering if anyone knows if there will be a Thermomix stall at Agfest this year and, if so, what sort of deal they will be offering?

Thanks!
