Our chest freezer died overnight.I ordered a new upright frost free one today. We could have done without this expense but there is an awful amount of food I don't want to waste. It's being delivered tomorrow, of course at a price being a Saturday ! At least it’s in stock.

That's not good CC, hope you don't lose too much food.  Does an upright hold more than a chest freezer, or is it just easier to see what you have got with the upright?

Sorry to hear that CC I know how you must feel.  We had that happen once when we were on holidays for 2 weeks.  A big chest freezer with half a beast in it. The smell was terrible when we got home.  Fortunately the insurance covered everything.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

What a nuisance CC. I prefer upright freezers as I can't reach to the bottom of chest freezers, even small ones.

CC, bad luck with the chest freezer.  You will find the upright one easier  to access although they don’t hold as much. Also easier to clean out.

How old was your freezer Denise?  Lucky you were aware it was not working. I too prefer the upright, being short I used to almost fall into the chest type whilst trying to reach the bottom to defrost it many years ago.

An upright freezer is easy to access Marina and luckily I only lost some bread. Like Cookie and Judy it’s difficult to get to the bottom of a chest freezer. I agree Chookie this new upright freezer doesn’t hold as much as the chest freezer. Judy the chest freezer was secondhand given to me by a friend when my previous freezer packed up.

You’ve done well with it then Denise. I hope the contents fitted into your new one though.

I received a new ipad this morning. Ity replaced the one that I had. I'm very impressed. This one has a 2 year guarantee. The young man was telling me about the new ipads that will be coming out. He said they will be quite different.

I wonder what the difference will be cookie.  It would be nice if you could just speak to it and an email or posting is done for you.

Decided to take advantage of the mid winter sales and use some gift vouchers up at Myer last night.  Amongst other things I bought a couple of new dinner plates, went to a different department to browse around, then promptly dropped the bag with the crockery, smashed them both, so had to go back to buy some more - fortunately they were half price and the gift vouchers paid!
