Enjoyed my day today with no kids at home (last day of school for 2 weeks) caught up on the house work and enjoyed the peace :)

Not much at all.  Had SIL & her friend visit before lunch then dropped Mum at the hairdressers, Katiej visited this afternoon and bought me some of her scrubbies plus the dear girl also picked up some citric acid at a good price for the dishwashing powder recipe. Now I am about to go and do some food shopping.

I did 100 laps at the pool this morning and then walked home, which hurt my hip, but I didn't have my broomstick with me :-))
Trying to study this afternoon but I feel a bit distracted. Something is bugging me.... I don't know what though ???

Oh yeah, I also did a load of washing and cooked my soup for lunch :)

You'll have to try and remember that broomstick.  ;)

I hope you are remembering to try and breath while you are swimming. Remember swimming is an aerobic exercise, you wouldn't try to run while holding your breath. Swim Smooth.

I only swam about 2k this morning so that is about 80 lengths of the 25 mtr pool.

I have been working through checking all of my schools end of month finances. Now I have to stat working on professional development session the I have to present in about a week.

Well, actually... I do sometimes hold my breath when I run :-)) It's bad, I know. I struggle to get into a rhythm so I just hold it. But I do breathe while swimming, unless I'm doing a drill where I have to swim as far as I can in one breath. Which is only one length of the pool anyway :)
Den, do you breathe on every stroke? I was getting a sore neck from turning my head so much. I wondered whether I should be holding my breath a bit longer and breathing every third or fourth stroke.

wouldn't it be good if they could pipe some music into the pool as you swim laps?

I try and breath every third stroke alternating between the left and right side. It is called bilateral breathing and is good for achieving a balanced stroke. I don;t hold my breath though. I take a breath then start exhaling slowly and steadily until I tun my head to the other side to breath again. Think breath-bubble-bubble-breath. Swim Smooth was a reference to a website about improving your swimming technique.

With my luck they would play something I wouldn't like.  You can buy water proof mp3 players that are made for use in the pool.
