JulieO, that photo of yours is so tempting, strange that my recipe did not turn out the way you all describe it...
I may have to give it another try, probably I messed up with the measurements, it was too watery and also sour due to the tomatoes I used...

I have actually made all the three from the cookbook,

My favorites in the following order :

Best is the vegetable soup with variations (used potato, carrot, zucchini and spinach) - hearty, simple and delicious
Pumpkin soup - good but not up to the mark, need to try tweaking a little bit
Tomato soup - dissatisfied, not sure if I had done something wrong, but it was too watery and bland..

CreamPuff, let me know how you go with the tomato soup :)

Bread / Re: Making bread question
« on: February 17, 2015, 08:46:13 am »
Thanks chookie and CreamPuff :) I knew I could always rely on this forum even for my stupid questions..

And Chookie, as you said I love the idea of having homemade bread, now with a thermomix, its so much more easier... I just go crazy with the smell of freshly baked bread, its just out of this world   :D Loving the recipes i have tried already but searching for one which my 14 month old will eat anytime... dont want to give her white bread..

Sorry to add another question but since I am new to bread making, what do we use the lid for? I dont think we bake in a tin with lid, right? Or is it to store the baked bread?

Thanks for bearing with me :)

Bread / Best loaf tin for bread?
« on: February 17, 2015, 04:17:13 am »
Probably some stupid questions for experts,

I have tried Buttermilk bread and Helene's dark rustic bread, loved the results but the loaf was not as big as a normal supermarket bread. So my question, what is the ideal size of a loaf tin to get a proper slice :)

And also any pointers where I can get a good loaf tin?

That's actually a cool idea Karen, never thought of it, I use the IKEA plastic brushes to clean bathrooms at times, but this is a good one to use with cleaning products :)

Hope no one minds me bumping this recipe, it sounds like a very interesting mix. And from the reviews, surely something to try!
Hubby has made a vinegar and dishwashing liquid mixture which we safely use to clean bub's high chair and kitchen, without the guilt of using chemicals... But for the floorboards I still use pine o clean, surely gonna try this and avoid the store bought chemicals :)

Looking at the reviews, this looks like a perfect one for my first trial :)

Hi everyone,

This is PD from Down under.
I have recently bought a TM5 and really excited about it. I keep browsing through your recipes, especially the Vegetarian section as I am one, and love love the ideas. I have a 13month old and making the most use of my thermi, whip up smoothies, soups, veg sausage rolls and the spicy vegetable muffins.

Just thought of saying Hello :)

Cheers
PD
