Made these on the weekend and we all enjoyed them.  I have never steamed puddings before in the thermomix but they worked well.  There were a few wet patches where the water from the lid dripped on the cake but it was still fine. Not sure if there is any way around this. My DH in particular loved the sauce and was disappointed that I limited him as there wasn't a lot of sauce. Next time I think I will double and he can have as much as he likes :) I didn't use the stevia powder and it was still sweet enough.

I made these on the weekend. Some of my spices were a bit old but still the biscuits had a lovely flavour.  Have frozen some of the dough so will be interesting to see how they cook up - don't think there will be any problems.  A nice biscuit and worth making.

I made these this afternoon and was surprised how light and nice these were.  It was also the first time that I have ever whipped egg whites in the thermomix  - and it worked :) I didn't put the cinnamon and sugar topping on as I found that the batter was sweet enough. I am hoping that they will freeze well for the boys lunches. Will definitely make them again.

Another meal that we enjoyed. The puree was interesting but we all liked it.  I did have a problem getting the fish to cook - I have never used the Varoma before to cook fish and was unsure how to cook it evenly with the paper on the tray. I did end up putting all but the fish in the thermoservers and then put some water in the bowl and continued to steam the fish for a few additional minutes to finish it off. I am really enjoying the all in one meals - it makes life so much easier :)

This was a quick and yummy dinner that we all enjoyed. Unfortunately after I had started I realised that I had run out of sesame oil that I think would have made it taste really lovely.  I found that there was, well for us, way too much quinoa so would probably only use 200g for us next time. The tikka sauce is lovely and really adds to the dish. I will definitely make this again.

Well my problem here I think is that I didn't read the recipe correctly and tried to add everything to the bowl and when I realised had to try and mix it which meant it went clumpy.  In an effort to get the lumps out I put the mixture in the bowl (in half batches) and whizzed it to make it smooth.  I baked 2 separate loaves the first in a tin and the second as a cob loaf a few days later. In both cases I cooked for the required time but when I cut it it was very sticky particularly the cobb loaf. I guess I needed to cook for longer though it was very brown and crusty on the outside. It could have also been related to my mess up at the beginning :) Having said that though my eldest son in particular really likes it.  I will definitely give it another go and try the right method:)

Made this for dinner last night and we all enjoyed it.  In my rush as I was late for an appointment I didn't put in the chilli powder in the sauce. I think that it definitely needed some so will make sure it goes in next time. I also would next time put in either some peas or spinach. Definitely a meal I will make again.

Made this this afternoon to have with chicken soup.  Was a nice soft bread. I added some caramelised onions and shaped into a cobb loaf.  Was easy and quick to make.  My family all loved it.

These were very easy to make and taste lovely.  I cooked for probably 3 mins longer than the recipe stated and added just a little bit of water. I used some of it in the spelt loaf which was a really nice combination.

I made these to go with the black bean and chorizo soup. I found the first few a bit tricky to roll out but soon got the hang of it.  I also found that I actually needed less than 400g hot water when mixing the dough. They would be nice to use for a dip.  my ds15 and dh loved them. I didn't get to making the refried beans.

This was really lovely and very filling which is just as well as it only made 4 servings for my family :-)).  The whole family enjoyed it. I also made the dairy free sour cream which was lovely stirred in  and also the tostadas which was a really nice change from bread/toast. Very easy to make and while it was cooking made the tostadas. Great winter night soup.

Made this tonight for a dessert as we had visitors and I have to admit I was a bit nervous with it being gluten free and using flours I have never used before.  I needn't of worried as we all loved it.  It was simple to make and tasted great.  The custard made with coconut milk was really nice.  I did find it a bit sweet for me but I think that has to do with the fact that I don't have sugar any more :) My DS15 as was the rest of the family and visitors very complimentary!  5/5

I made this for dinner last night and we all really enjoyed it.  It was very easy to make though I think I would steam the pumpkin for less time next time as it was very soft and a little difficult to assemble.  The white sauce was really nice - my husband kept commenting how much he liked the cheese topping :) :) I didn't have any cashew milk so I just used Jo's method in the book but didn't bother to strain the milk before adding all the other ingredients.  The only thing was that the sauce was a little watery when I had cooked it but I just drained some of the liquid off. Will definitely make it again and it will probably become our go to Lasagne.

Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Review Cheese Scones - Page 193 QFEO.
« on: October 03, 2013, 10:42:11 am »
I don't know if I should review these as I really messed up the method :) I cooked these yesterday at mums (so not my own kitchen) and while I was making them was talking to Dad - not a good idea! Anyway my biggest mistake (and there were a few) was after cutting the scones I realised that I hadn't put the cheese in them!! I didn't want to remix them again as it would make them tough so just put the cheese on top and then put the topping on top of that. While obviously they would be much better if I had put the cheese in they were soft and still tasted lovely. I was really intrigued at the separate topping mix that goes on top just prior to cooking.  Definitely worth making - even with mistakes :)

I made these last week for visitors and also for my son to take on camp.    I didn't have white chocolate chips so used dark chocolate and also added less Cranberries (as didn't have the full amount) and less chocolate chips. I also left them in a little longer than the 12 mins. While I didn't have one both my visitors and son assure me they were great so will definitely make again.
