Title: Snake Cake for Kids

Hi there,
I am making a cake that will hopefully look a bit like this one for my nephew's birthday.
Any suggestions for a cake recipe to use that would work well in a bundt tin? I have been looking at the Family Sized Buttery Vanilla cake or the too easy chocolate cake.
I was hoping to somehow incorporate a flash of red through the middle, to look a bit like blood. Any suggestions?
