Title: Another newbie
Post by: Prinny on November 02, 2012, 11:19:03 pm: Hi, I am waiting for delivery of my new 'baby'.
I live in Melbourne and have wanted one for years, but couldn't afford it. Thanks to my mum I will be getting it in 2 weeks.

I have been talking about them for years and since August last year I became quite unwell and have spent months in hospital and she wants to make sure I am able to eat healthy and not spend ages in the kitchen.

I'm literally counting each day till it comes. Its worse than having an overdue baby (i was 13 days overdue LOL) Hope the next 2 weeks don't drag for u!! Also hope you get on well with the healthy eating for your overall health.

Great Mum you have there, think of all the goodies you will be able to make and hand over to her to show your appreciation. She will soon want one herself when she sees what you are doing with yours ;) I hope you are back to good health now and your problems are behind you, that's a long time to be in hospital.

I am so excited, have been dreaming of a thermomix for years.
Unfortunately I had to leave my job, so money is very tight, I still have to go to hospital every 4 weeks, so hopefully will soon be saving money and eating fresh healthy food.

I am very grateful for my mums help, she loves pumpkin soup, so I am sure that will be one of my first dishes.

What a loving Mum you have. I hope you're health is on the improve, and your mum is right, the TMX will have you spending less time in the kitchen and eating healthy.

Where in Melbourne are you? I'm thinking about maybe arranging a get together for the Melbourne members early next year

Yes, I know what you mean about being a bit freaked out in Summer...my in-laws are in Warburton and they put some of their important possessions in storage over the really hot months. The Dandenongs are just beautiful at anytime of year..I love them in Autumn the most!

Welcome to the forum. You will find that your TM will be of great help during the hot weather. There lots of wonderful recipes in the thermo books and here you can use.

I have made some bread and then made the strawberry jam to go with it. I also had to try the mashed potato, how good is the mash, yum. This morning I made some juice and then poached some eggs, all delish. I made some vege stock and will try a recipe from here tonight. I am loving it!
