Enough comments from the peanut gallery - I guess it is a case of - 'You can take the boy girl out of the country teacher but you can't take the country teacher out of the boy girl'. :D  :D

I really should take some new photos of my kitchen but at present (and for the foreseeable future) it is a mess because I had Joseph bring in a bunch of boxes from my storage building so I could sort through them and see what I can bring out into the light of day.
Then I will have to pack away some things that have been out for awhile and can go into storage again.

When I had a live-in housekeeper I used to rotate things in and out on a semi-annual basis but my cleaning crew doesn't do that kind of work and it's too much for me on my own.  I've asked the book club member who works at the local college to put a notice up on the bulletin board that I am willing to hire some temp help but it make take a while to get a response, since classes just began.

Mmm, I love that work space too - what a big mess I could make if I had that amount of room  ;)

I love the view you have out the window, and looks like a nice big balcony to entertain and sit on.

I have a need to clean up as I go - unlike DD so you can imagine when (as is often the case) she decides a birthday cake or a dessert bar needs to be done!!!!! Almost a case of -

The "balcony" is a deck on the west side of the house and when I was catering we could back the vans up to it and roll the carts straight into them.
That's why the door is so wide.
The mountains in the background are the eastern side of the San Andreas fault zone.
The kitchen was made large enough so that several people could work at the same time at various tasks.  I haven't used the wood-fired pizza oven for years but if I ever sell this place it should make it very attractive for potential buyers.
The long counter under the windows is a marble slab for pastry and candy work and it is lower than regular counter height to make it easier to reach to the back of it.
