Have just had a quick read through here as I've missed this before . . . . .just a thought - would Tenina's Chicken Stock Powder from FFS be a good replacement for the beef stock?  I'm far from a purist when it comes to stock - beef, chicken, vegetable . . . it all adds flavour and if I haven't one on hand I use the other.  Must admit though, since having the TMX and making the veg. stock (and making the stovetop chicken stock kept in the freezer) I've not used stock cubes at all come to think of it . . . . :D

I'm not sure GF, but I would give it a go. Is Tenina's chicken stock a powder?

The 3 things I use it for are French Onion Soup Mix, KFC coating and Tenina's chicken stock powder.

We had Beef mince patties last night with a couple of Tbsp of the mixture as well. Adds a lovely flavor.

Dede, would you mind charing your meat patties recipe? I want to make some in the next few days and would like to use the french onion soup mix, I think it would add a nice flavour.

Oops sorry. Hope your patties turned out ok. :)

My patties I usually ad a grated carrot and onion, couple table spoons of French onion soup mix, couple tablespoons home made tomato relish, and salt and pepper and an egg to bind it all together.  I don't really have measurements but just throw it all in together. :)
