Made mashed potato in 7 and coleslaw by hand, to go with schnitzels. A copy KFC meal.
A box of mixed fruit and veggies delivered from Wilson’s will arrive today. I add a few more things to the order. ( KAtie, no choc coated raspberries ) trying to stay away from the Supermarkets. The box is $40 and with extras , about $80. and lasts about 2 weeks. Anything I don’t ( can’t) eat I cook up for the GC when they come for dinner. Example, potatoes and bananas because of the potassium. A quick trip to the Supermarket usually costs me about $100 a week. I still need additional things but don’t go often.

Cut thin slices of chicken breast, marinated them in Apricot and Orange sauce and then coated with Panko crumbs. Tried frying them, no good. Tried spraying with oil and AF. Much better. I bought the sauce but think I could make a better version. Will try, dried Apricots soaked in orange juice with a little fresh ginger.

KAtie, have tooth checked out. I had no pain at all after wisdom tooth removed. Too cold to exercise outside. I’m doing it on my treadmill in the garage, with iPad attached. Can read while walking. Dried some SD and posed it interstate. Clean out fridge. More office work. I’d rather cook.

Marina, nothing wrong with 70. Go for it. You are still working so you are doing well. Office type work that I have been avoiding. I’d rather cook!

So many choices for breakfast. Eggs and oats both good. The quickest egg breakfast for me is scrambled eggs. Into a small Pyrex jug, place 1 egg and 1 dessertspoon of milk. Beat with fork. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, microwave 20 seconds. Serve in buttered toast with pepper and a little salt.

Marina, thanks for the link. Good soup weather and this looks nice. Good idea to turn it into a meal.

I bought a jar of spicy apricot glaze. Will try it with chicken breast. Mashed potatoes and silverbeet from the garden.

My consultant is going to come and give me an additional lesson with the 7. I don’t know what I did wrong yesterday when I made the beef and veggie soup but the lid wasn’t locked on and kept popping off. I had 2 bones in the bowl and these floated to the top and pushed the lid. As it was a long slow cook , I didn’t want to cook with lid off. Too much steam in the room. As I have said, this is a completely different machine.

Happy Birthday Marina. One of the best things about eating out is that it can inspire you to try new foods or cooking methods. Other than making jam I’ve been washing a lot of wool. Alpaca and Cashmere jumpers and cardigans by hand. Drying them inside as the weather is cold and wet.

Beef, veggie soup and potato bread. I made the bread with potato flakes, ( Deb), and added lots of Sesame seeds and sunflower seeds. Sesame seeds are good for the brain.

Have made an interesting discovery for when making cream of veggie soup. Often , one veggie predominates. A handful of shaved Parmesan cheese added at the end and mixed in, balances out any predominant taste and adds to the creamy texture. Yesterday’s soup was carrot potato cauliflower zucchini and celery. Water and 3 soup cubes.
