My freezer is full again.  :(
Last week I managed to come in at $144 which was really pleasing. I don't want to add up Christmas week as I spent $70 on a Barossa ham alone.
I went to the supermarket, chicken shop and bakery today, and I'm on track for this week.  I managed to buy 2 free range chickens stuffed with cranberry and macadamia nuts for $10 today. Unbelievable considering that each weighs more than 2 kg!

$122 this week (will arrive Monday) - pretty happy with that!

I had a good week but expected it with all the food I have in the house - just $36.20.

The chickens were a bargain ES.  :)

I'm starting again this week. (didn't add up over Christmas) Hoping that the average this year will compensate for birthday celebrations and holidays.

I am going to try this again starting next week.  I am not sure how I will go as we only shop for basics once per week and that part is easy to keep under the $100.00 budget.
But then I have a trip to the Natural Food Store about once every 3 weeks and that makes that week blow out totally.  Last time I bought a 5kg bag of rapadura sugar and that was almost a weeks allowance in one item!!  But it will last about 3 months.  :D

It is even cheaper now Che is home schooled.  And he is now eating much more "normal food".
I think a lot of his dietary issues were due to the stress of going to school.
It was the only thing he felt in control of.  He now is willing to at least try new things, and is asking for things that in the past I didn't even offer to him  :)

You are marvelous home schooling DGS. I truly believe that diet and behaviour are related.

I agree Rosie, a mammoth task you have taken on and full credit to you.  It sounds as if things are going really well there.

Thank you  ♥♥
It is such hard work but we are sooo pleased.  Half way through last year (when we took him out of school) he was assessed as at Gr 2 level and in a Gr 4 classroom.
He finished the year, doing a normal Gr 3 curriculum through the Brisbane School of Distance Education.
He passed the normal assessment and got an "Outstanding Effort" for English and Poetry.
The feedback has totally changed the way he feels about himself.  He is more confident and was enjoying his lessons.
He is now a happy boy and many of his stronger Asperger traits are reduced or gone.  It is wonderful  :)

I have been kept very busy learning Word processing,  Power Point presentations,  Movie making and Video and Audio recording.

You're an absolute blessing to this child RosieB..      I don't think there is any greater gift you can give to another than  the dedication you have shown to this very lucky young man!

Take this comment on board Rosie. GF is a teacher and knows what it takes to educate a child. You are a wonderful grand parent to dedicate your retirement years to him.
