Dani Valant’s soft choc chip biscuits, double batch for DS to take to boarding house. Going to have to stop cooking these as they are super good and Lint chocolate is delicious.

The tarts sound nice Chookie, what are they called please? I cooked my rye overnight SD and have started another rye SD. Not overly impressed so far, I may do a little fiddling. (new recipe)

The Japanese Milk Bread looks good Chookie.

I have a Sultana Cake in the oven.  Will give half to DS.

DD rang and asked if I had a nice tmx Cinnamon Scroll recipe so I sent her JulieO's recipe and Chookies lemon version as well.

Cookie, these tarts were a recipe by Adam Liaw, Rum, raisin and butter tarts.  I found the pastry too thick. Next time will use puff pastry and use the method used for the Portuguese tarts.  The topping is intriguing as it curdled but baked ok.  I also think your Nans fruit mince would be great instead of the rum/ raisins.

Thanks Chookie.
I finished off my rye SD loaf and baked it today. It was a very wet mix, but I managed. It is very soft and quite sour. I will check where I got the recipe and share it.

I had a spectacular fail this morning - at the last minute before heading down to work, I thought I had better make another quick batch of hummous as our last lot was just about finished.  It turned out really sloppy, so I drained another can of chickpeas and put them in.  That helped, although it still didn't taste particularly wonderful, but I was running out of time so I quickly scooped it out of the TMX into a container then found my jar of tahini sitting on the bench ...  untouched!  After the addition of a generous blob or two of tahini all is now good!

Cookie, I think it is nice to be able to share photos.  The Squashed flies look better than mine and the Rye loaf lovely.
Marina, it is so easy to leave something out.
There are so many things I want to cook but am not up to it at the moment. Will make sausage rolls for GS If I can today.  He picked me a bag of lemons yesterday.  I want to make the Apple version of the Sicilian Orange cake as I think what I have found is a basic moist cake that can be adapted to almost any fruit.
Also yesterday I altered the bake selection on the bread machine and produced an quill soft a Japanese Milk loaf.

I always think a photo adds so much to the recipe Chookie.

Agree, Cookie.
No cooking yesterday.  In fact, did nothing.  Haven’t been able to go to the chook shed or veggie patch for over a week. Missing it.  Have read a book a day.  Frustrating. Relying in my live in Gourmet cook. Tinned tomato soup again.
