Hi Laura from Melbourne, Australia
« on: August 04, 2009, 07:56:49 am »
Hi everyone.  I am Laura also from Melbourne Australia.  I also saw the Thermomix on Masterchef and was fascinated even after that short demonstration that George did with it.

I went to a demonstration last weekend and am hooked.  I have ordered my machine but have to wait till next Thursday for delivery.   As you can tell I am very eager to get it so I am pouring over the forums in the meantime trying to pick up some hints and tips and find some good recipes.

Am looking forward to sharing with everyone.

Laura

That is a common occurence with new TMXs - make room in the freezer!!!

Ha ha Thermomixer, but I will probably ruin the first lot I cook and you might not want to eat mush!

Well today was the day... yaaa hooo.    I just finished my delivery demonstration and my demonstrator said it was one of the longest demonstrations she has done - we all couldnt stop talking long enough to let her get a word in.

YUMMMMM    she made sorbet, hummos, beetroot salad, bread, risotto and lemon custard.   Dont ask me which one was the nicest - they were all delicious.  There was some left and then my husband came home!!!!!   He ate the lot.

Now I am going to spend the evening with my recipe book and recipes I have downloaded off the forum and have a cooking spree tomorrow.

When my friends arrived I think they thought they were in for a boring afternoon but now I think they are really impressed.  We ground up sugar, wheat, lemon zest etc all in the space of a couple of minutes.

I have moved my kettle cause I think my new friend might just get pride of place in the kitchen.
