Oh I thought your son was building a restaurant ... maybe it's in another area.

Can you recommend any restaurants in that area? Also hubby is interested in getting some shirts and/or suits made up - any recommendations for that?

Theres a tailor near matahari called goanna.
Has been there for about 20+ years.
Only go to him.
Fantastic fabric....ridiculous prices.

Uni as we are not going during school hols the room rate is around $65 each.

I bought one of those little ice cream scoops today, about 1 tablespoon, and I bought some ceramic pie weights. And yesterday my dad bought me one of those nicer-dicer things (it's actually similar to the nicer-dicer, but it's made by Bellini). We were both talking about them the other day, and how when you make certain things, it's nice to have everything the same size and then he came home with one (he's staying with me for a few days). That was really nice.

I need to stop spending money. The thermomix was meant to help me save money, but I've been spending more! The ladies at the Matchbox store I go to know DS's name and play peek-a-boo with him now...

That didn't last long. I just stumbled across this book from the link DroverJess posted earlier for the chocolate cake close, so I bought it from Fishpond for about $18!

But I think I decided that I wanted to buy it as soon as I finished that previous post... It just took me a few minutes to find the cheapest place... lol.

Oh well, I have a big interest in cake decorating, and I'm planning on making DS's birthday cake in October so I can rationalise buying it. That's all that matters. I actually showed some restraint. There was another one I wanted to buy as well!  ;D

I'm glad POK is way over the other side of Australia. I do love their newsletters though.

Jakodai, that book is on my wish list. I have to admit that I ordered  two books from fishpond too. I've preordered Zoe Clarke's Cake Parlour book (thanks to Maddy) and Baking with the Cake Boss. Can't wait for them to arrive

I've not shopped yet, but on the list for this next week...
a new car
a bedroom suite
all the new doona covers etc to go with said bedroom suite
half a new wardrobe seeing as I've chucked the other half
rubbish bin and other accessories to make our office look nicer now we have marri floors.
That should do me nicely!
The girls are on school hols, so no doubt they'll have a list too.
(and then it is back to work to pay for it all!!)
