My first Christmas present. A scarf for my mum. What she can't do with a scarf isn't worth knowing.

That is a beautiful scarf. She will love it.

A few things from POK. The pocket knife is a Christmas present for DS, he's been desperate for one for ages but we've been resisting. He'll be able to wittle away at the trees in the backyard over the Christmas holidays.

Frozzie I'm a bit the same, but hoping it's only because I was very rushed this morning when I had a quick look. I loved the sound of it when reading the contents put up though so hopefully once I have a better look I'll be more inspired. Quite a few of the recipes use ingredients I don't have so might also have to do some shopping.

Not very exciting purchases but I took Chookie's advice and bought a thermometer so hopefully I too can achieve the perfect loaf of bread!  Ended up also getting a "Holiday Roasting Kit" as it has an oven thermometer included (as well as a meat thermometer and a timer).  Unfortunately, the temperature settings on my Smeg oven have been almost wiped off by a previous tenant, so I am hoping the oven thermometer will help with setting the correct oven temperature.

Frozzie, I had a longer look at the book tonight and what turned me off with my quick glance this morning was a lot of the recipe seemed to use ingredients I wouldn't normally have and are quite expensive - crio bru, coconut oil, freeze dried fruits, but on closer look while I will need to buy some more ingredients I like the look and sound of quite a few, and will hopefully get a chance to make them.

Lovely colour.

DD would have chosen yellow if it was her choice  ;)
I'm really happy with my emerald green one though! It makes me smile every time I boil it :) :) :)

Chookie, Yotam Ottlenghlis' "Jerusalem" cookbook is wonderful. I have the e-book version and love it. Great if you like middle-eastern food. The recipes all work and the mix of flea ours is terrific.
