Hi,
Was wondering if anyone has a great recipe for pork ribs that's not already posted on the forum please? Can be using any cooking method.
In anticipation, ;D
Julie.

Julie I did sticky pork belly last night, from Whats for dinner, can post that if you like :)
-
Yes please Hally, would love to get some new recipes. ;D
-
Will do, I will ask Judy if I can post it on here, if not will pm you :)
-
Thanks Hally that would be great.
Hve just been going through some old books that I haven't looked at for ages. Came across a Women's Weekly one called Chinese Cooking Class which has 2 recipes in there; BBq pork spare ribs and also Pork ribs with chilli plum sauce. This would have been a good time for your 'eat your books' index thingy Hally. ;D

Thanks Hally that would be great.

The BBQ'd pork spare ribs is the recipe I have been using for years Julie - my favourite of all time. I always use the meaty spare ribs as in the picture and not the American bony type. You never saw them around anyway when this book was first released.

Is that the one with the red cover Judy? I think I have it too.
-
Thanks Judy, I'm looking forward to trying both that one and the one from Hally.
After having a good look in the AWW book, there's so many things I now want to make. ;D
Kimmy it does have a red cover. :)
-
Yes I should revisit it too. Remember some old favourites are in there.
-
I have always loved that book and it seems as if it is a favourite of a few on here. Maybe we should convert some of the recipes girls ;) This is it, who else has it?
-
I have a copy, too, Judy . . . but the cover is slightly different. printed in 2000 (it says on the cover "updated and revised edition" - first printed in the 1970s. Nothing quite like these oldies but goodies!! :D
-
I am definitely in. Mum cooked from this when I was growing up.
-
I must have the original then GF as there is no date in mine but it only cost $3.98 ;D
-
;D ;D I remember those days, Judy . . .
-
I have it also, mine will be the early one. Good idea to convert some of the recipes. I have been looking at recipes for Chinese steamed Buns today.
-
I have a copy too, $3.98 bought sometime in the early 80's. I remember making the hot ice cream balls with the caramel sauce when we lived in PNG. They became my dinner party dessert.
-
I've done 28 recipes from this book - it was always my favourite WW book by far. It has been neglected though since the TMX came into the house, something I must remedy as looking through the book last night bought back many happy memories of some of my favourite food.
-
I dont have this book, so some conversions woukd be lovely :)
-
Well those with the book will have to see what they can do for you Hally. I'll try and include one in next week's meals.
-
Have always wanted to make the deep fried icecream balls. Hoisin chicken was a favourite of ours. I will try to fit in a recipe next week too.
-
Uh oh!! Just bought it :-)) :-)) If you guys say it's good I know it will be excellent ;)
-
Not a lot in there that can be converted as a lot of the recipes are deep fried in the wok but I have made a list of some that I think might work so my first one will be done either tomorrow or Monday -
Scallops Prawns & Vegetable Combination (I've made it with chicken before Hally ;))
-
I made the pork ribs from QFITT and I was a bit disappointed in them, sauce didn't thicken and coat ribs was just like a runny gravy. Next time I think I will try the bourbon ones.
-
Nico's bourbon ribs GHM? They are lovely.
