sweet bread for finger buns?
« on: October 01, 2011, 05:45:30 am »
Hi all  :)
I was wondering if anyone knows of a recipe that would be good to make bakers delight style finger bun, with the icing etc on top? My kids are huge fans, and I thought it would be a good treat for the holidays. Any ideas?  ???

Red Kell,  I would use the Hot Cross Bun recipe and leave out the fruit and spice.  Use one from the Forum.

Was browsing looking for a finger bun recipe myself and came across this thread.

Not sure if Red Kell is still around and how did you go with these, what did you end up using?

Question for Frozzie, I have tried doing a search for bill granger cinnamon buns , but can't seem to find them, is there anything else I could use in the search terms or do you have a link that you could share please  :)

Like all fruit buns they usually need using within a day or two as they go stale quickly.
I have a Boston bun recipe on this forum as well but it uses mashed potato which makes a moist Boston bun which lasts longer. (you can't taste the mashed potato). My family loves it.
Other wise the hot cross buns on the forum are great and could easily be iced with coconut icing.
Let us know how you go.
