Glad, Gert, Norma and Uni are having warm fun.
It is freezing here.  Strong winds, snow and rain.  Have to go out, not looking forward to it.
Rals platelets have slipped again.  Dr has increased medication.   Funny thing is he is feeling better.
Had lunch out at our favourite restaurant yesterday. L’Espresso. I am avoiding garlic and onions.  They adapted the Duck dish and when I thanked the Kitchen staff and said  that it was better than the much more expensive Duck at Provincial,  they all cheered.  Ral had the steak sandwich without the bread.  Also delicious.

Good morning everyone.  A freezing day here with strong winds and rain.  A good day to stay inside.

Ditto here Margaret but I have to go out this afternoon and I’m going out to dinner tonight.

I hope everyone takes care. It has been cold here, but nothing like over there. My brother flew into Sydney early this morning and then out to Canada. I haven’t heard from him so I guess he got away before things were closed.

Weird about Ral’s platelets. I hope it is sorted out for you.

With Rals platelets we at least know that there are several ways to deal with them.  In the meantime we have decided to live it up.  We are going to Melb next week to stay at the Sofitel.
It has been trying to snow all day.  We have had flurries.  It was -4 at 6 am.

Good Morning All. It's been quite a while since I have been on the forum. Hope all is well with everyone. I'm hoping to be on here more often as I am trying to cook more. DH has been the chief cook for the last couple of years. Tonight I plan to make mashed potato in the TMX and sticky date pudding. Fingers crossed it turns out OK.

Michele, it is great to see you again.  I make both mashed pots and Sticky Date often.  The secret of good mashed spuds is not to beat the potatoes too much.  If you do they go into glue.
I make double the sauce for the sticky date.  Have fun with your TMX.

It is 7.30 am and -1.
Yesterday I made hot rolled oats for the chickens.  They loved them.  More today.

Good morning everyone.  Hi Michele, nice to hear from you again.  Good luck with your cooking, let us know how you go with it.
Sun is out at the moment but goodness knows how it will be for my early football match today. Loved the reaction by the players who were snowed on in last night’s match.  I don’t know that I would have enjoyed it as much as they did!  Stay warm everyone.
Enjoy your getaway to Melbourne Chookie and Ral.

Good morning everyone.  Another freezing cold and wet day here.  At least the wind has eased off.
Hello Michele, it's nice to hear from you again.  It's great that you have found your cooking mojo again.
Chookie & Ral, enjoy your break in Melbourne

It's nice to "see" familiar faces. I have made the sticky date pudding and it looks OK. Will start the mashed potato soon. We've got the cold snap too. A bit of a shock after all the beautiful days we've had.

Chookie, enjoy your stay. So nice having some luxury.

It’s lovely hearing from you Mich. I was thinking of you today and wondering how you were going with the cold.
Judy I’m sure you were very thrilled with your team’s win today. We play tomorrow. We have our Model A AGM tomorrow but I’ve told DH we have to be home by 3.20 to watch the footy.

I sent my brother a photo of the snow at Manuka oval. He lived in the ACT for 10 years and never got snow.

Yes I was cookie. We haven’t seen too many wins at home matches this year so it was a nice change.  The umpires played well too LOL. We were actually given frees when we were entitled to them for a change.  I’ll be watching your game tomorrow.

Lovely to hear from you Michele.
Enjoy your break in Melbourne Chookie.
It’s been stormy these past two days. Heavy rain this afternoon but tonight it has calmed down.
DH’s Dad was rushed into hospital a few days ago. Poor chap has had an operation but fingers crossed he will pull through.
