Well done Amy, hopefully they will be able to confirm the position and get all the paperwork sorted quickly.

Thanks CC and Wonder :)

I am going to the hospital to see a man on Monday and he will be giving me some medical history forms to complete. The man on the phone yesterday said he wants to give me evening shifts, so it sounds like I'm going to be starting as soon as the paperwork is done.

Medical history forms? Amy, Is it normal to complete those for hospital work?  I haven't ever completed medical forms for employment.

Really snappy? ???

Um, I'm not sure. I just do what I'm told :-))

But they would have to know about my spinal surgery anyway :P

Amy if you mean they would know about your surgery because you had it at the hospital that's not correct. Your medical information is nt able to be released without your permission and if they did already know about it I would be asking questions as its a severe breach of privacy legislation. All employees we recruit are subject to pre employment medicals and this is a normal business practice. The pre employment medicals are different depending on the specific requirements of the job and while we never know the specifics of an individual's condition if it's something that may impede them undertaking the job they would be classified as unfit for the particular role, sometimes we discuss the particulars with the doctor with the consent of the individual and find a way around if we are really wanting the particular individual and sometimes unfortunately it means the individual doesn't get the job. I wouldn't be worried if you are asked to take a medical but would be concerned if they have your medical history from another source.

Between cooking this morning then filling in some trenches this afternoon (after down pipes were finally installed for the new shed) I'm stuffed. I got a nasty blister on my hand from the shovel. Ouch :(
Now time for a shower I do think.

Work this morning. At the top of my street this morning a kangaroo ran into my car. I stopped because I saw it but it decided to keep going anyway. My bumper bar is split but the car is still drivable. Rang my insurer and thay said I would have to pay an excess to get it fixed as the kangaroo did not stop and we didn't exchange details.  >:( :-))

Thanks for this mcmich, still laughing, although it is not funny having to deal with the damage.
