Easy Plum Liquor
« on: September 03, 2010, 12:39:17 am »
Hello

Here It is PLUMTIME - and I loooove Plums in every way :D :D
I found a great Plumliquer recipe in the German Forum ( http://www.wunderkessel.de/forum/kalt-alkohol/62166-schneller-zwetschgenlikoer.html )and I made It now 4 times :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
My husband says it's for ladies ...... hehehe   - yummiiiiiii
Besides being easy to do has the distinction of being consumed as soon as it cooles! 8) 8)
Of course if you wait a few days it becomes always better!
Here goes!

Recipe Name:

EASY PLUM LIQUOR

400 grams Water
800 grams of Plum already ginned
300 grams of schnapps (white brandy)
100 grams Sugar (I use brown)

Preparation:
Place the water in the Thermomix and basket inside with Plums
Programs 30 minutes / Varoma / Speed 1

Now remove the basket of plums (reserving them and use later to crumble, pie or jam!)
Add the sugar and Schnapps to the existing liquid and Schedule 7 minutes / 90 ° / Speed 2

That's it - now it's just bottle and cool!

As you see it is very difficult to do ;)

Hope you enjoy it too  -  hiks!

Sounds good to me isi - how do you drink it?  Straight or mixed with what?  How much does that recipe make, about 500 - 600mls?  Looks a nice one for our Christmas goodies baskets this year, yes it is not too early to be thinking ahead  ;)

Hi

We drink it straight judy - it doesn't make much - maximal 600ml.
I am going to make some attractive labels to put on the bottles to offer!
If there is any left of course ;)
That is why I have that guardian looking after them :D Thermo!!!!

I know I am probably having a blonde moment, but does a plum already ginned just mean the seeds removed? Or has it been treated somehow?

I had forgotten all about this recipe from isi but it might just be on my list when I see some nice plums available.  I've some caramel schnapps I could use - I wonder if that would be suitable?  Love recipes where you get 2 items for the price of 1, especially if it includes a bottle of liqueur  ;D  Thanks for bumping the recipe Kimby, very timely at this time of the year when people start thinking of Christmas hamper ideas.

I made this today. As Isi said " it's so easy" :D :D :D I suggest that after the plums have been steaming for 30 minutes you leave then in situ for a few minutes,so all the juice can drain into the TM bowl before proceeding with the next step.I made 1 1/2 bottles.

I've finished all my strawberry liqueur so I hope the plums hurry up here and in can try this. I guess I could use vodka in it.
