Recipe Requests / Limes limes limes
« on: January 18, 2015, 03:16:24 am »
So I have a box of limes.  What recipes could I use?

I'm thinking lime sorbet (any good recipes for this ?) but also anything else.

Thanks

thanks :)

sorry just realised this was posted in the wrong spot.

I got the handbook this morning when she told me to do this diet, I have since got the cookbook RPA suggest - which has made me a lot calmer about it.

will have a look at those links too thanks

Ok so I am gluten free and on very low lactose diet at the moment.  My dietitian wants me to try the RPAH Elimination diet to see if it helps with some other problems as well...

so I figure it's time for my thermomix to get a workout.

From what I can gather the RPAH Elimination Diet is basically the failsafe one.

Please send me through any ideas.

Meals, snacks etc.

Add RPAH Elimination to Gluten Free and Lactose Free is seeming tricky

Thanks

Recipe Requests / Re: Pumpkin Risotto??
« on: January 04, 2011, 08:35:12 am »
butternut squash is called pumpkin over here  ;D

i don't use that recipe anymore, i use one based on baf65's recipe! (lots more liquid and less 'stodgy')

we are having a bacon, pumpkin and herb risotto tonight :)

Do you have the recipe (or point me in the right direction) of the baf65s recipe?

Recipe Requests / All in one meals

I need some ideas.  Our thermomix gets used a fair amount, but still not used enough, and certainly not used enough for complete meals... so please spam me with some all in one meals.  We do the bangers mash and onion gravy one regularly, but would like more meal ideas.

Thanks :)

Desserts / Re: Now that it is nearly sorbet season again...........

I prefer the sorbets with the egg white (or substitute), but we had a preg lady over so gave the "no egg" replacer a try, worked just as well as the actual egg white, is cheaper, and sits better with us given its not raw egg.  So have used egg replacer ever since.

I have also found the "no egg" egg replacer works well instead of the egg white.  and although its not a standard in many peoples cupboards, it lasts for ages, and actually works out much cheaper than eggs.

Aww that sounds like such a great idea.  Unfortunately I work so wont be able to make it. Have a good time

I dont know there is such a thing as too fluffy of butter cream, esp if you want to colour it (since the fluffier you get it the whiter it gets).  I've made buttercream in the thermomix, but I def prefer my kenwood for that.  It just does not get enough air through it in my opinion

I've still not made it in there yet, but it is great for the "kneeding" stage :) put it in, blitz for a few seconds and its all soft and useable :) BRILLIANT

I've made this in the thermomix before http://glutenfree.wordpress.com/2007/07/18/gf-wrap-sandwich-success/ (never 100% perfected the conversion hence not posting it), but aside from being really tasty as a "bread" it makes a brilliant pizza base

Well I made a batch in the machine with the long life milk (so much quicker and easier), but this time the whey did not separate out like the first batch did.  So when I put it into a container to take to work this morning (still nice and thick) it was not much thicker than milk when I got to work.  SO thinking the whey thinned it out or something, or for what ever reason it just did not work :(

I guess back to using "real" milk and heating/cooling it - but it just takes sooo long.
