I plan to give the oat bread at least one more try Chookie. The first time I usually follow the recipe and then muck around with it.

A curried sausage casserole for dinner as we will be late home tonight.

I cooked Jill Dupleix’s One Pan Chicken With Mustard cream sauce. It was extremely tasty.  Will make again.  The only change I made was used leek in place of onion. Could make ahead and reheat.

I used to make one very similar to that Chookie, only difference is Jill’s has spinach in it.  It was my favourite dinner party dish way back in the 70’s and everyone loved it.  It was great, you could make it the day beforehand too then heat gently.

Judy, thanks for that info.  Love her recipes.  Used the bones for stock which I added to a tin of tomato soup. Served with blob of Sour Cream.
Make pea and ham hock soup today.  OMG it’s cold.

Even colder today.  We had snow yesterday.  SD crumpets and SD English muffins. Made another Jam and Coconut slice. Great way to use up jam.

I'm going to have a go at two new recipes, RTE's vege samosa pie as well as a Chick pea and pumpkin casserole (Jill Dupleix recipe) and I'll also make a batch of hummus.  I will have loads of veges left over from the two earlier recipes so will probably make a shepherd's pie or something, we'll see how enthusiastic I am.

Orange plain cake doubled recipe and iced , now a third gone . A little dry , would like to make it moist .
Apparently DD is in charge of cooking now !! This will be interesting if we get dinner tonight . Think I’ll go and watch Netflix so I do not interfere.

For the last few months I have been making SD crumpets weekly.   I make 20 at a time and give most away.  Today I made the SD English muffins.  We both prefer them to the crumpets.  When toasted they are lovely and crunchy.  I have adapted the recipe which is on my blog. I added 1 teaspoon of yeast with the second lot of flour and cooked with the lid on for 5 minutes after turning. Then 5 minutes with lid off. ( 15 minutes in total) I also sprayed the frying pan liberally with water when I placed them in the pan, spraying again when turning. 9 very large muffins , easy and very nice.
